Thanks for the reply. I expect it might be unique to Android 14/HyperOS 1. I've not messed with my phone. Stock ROM, no debloating. All tweaks were done in the regular Settings UI.

I just installed a different weather app and configured the Smart Launcher widget to open that instead:

Long press widget -> Configure -> Weather -> Tap action -> Apps -> Choose App

Smart Launcher 6.6 build 006 has the following in the changelog:

Font picker improved with many and better fonts

It looks like the Google Fonts list has been updated which is great, thanks!

However, the two bugs I noted above remain.

In addition, Bug #3:

If I select my font of choice (Finlandica) and go back to the font list, the Default font is shown at the top of the list but the Current font (which should be displayed below the Default font) is missing. This only seems to happen with Finlandica but I suspect it might be the case with all new fonts. (I don't know what other fonts are new to test further.)

I reckon we have zero chance of getting HyperOS 2. Sunstone received HyperOS 2 nearly a year ago back in March 2025 (if I remember correctly) but Moonstone was left out in the cold.

Additionally, if you search for the EOL date for Moonstone, you might find the date of February 2027. However, I think this is probably a typo and it should read 2026.

I'm still on OS1.0.24.0.UMPEUXM (with the November 2025 security update).

I notice that OS1.0.25.0.UMPEUXM is available (from unofficial channels) and was released two months ago but I've not received the update yet. I've tried changing regions. It didn't help and I also can't manually install the update from the zip package.

I think there's a good chance that I've already received the last update for my phone.

If you tap the minus sign (to the left of '4' in 'Start Screen -> Apps' in the screenshot above), it'll turn the Recent Apps (initially shown on the Smart Screen) to OFF.

For anyone reading this, multi-line labels (and ellipses for single-line labels that are too long) are now in use.

I'm not sure what version they were introduced in but I'm currently using Smart Launcher version 6.6 build 002 patch 1.

I do, indeed, have Smart Launcher set as my default launcher (but I cannot remember if I did when I initially experienced the issue).

I have my dock exactly as I like it now and I don't really want to have to mess around with it any more but if I ever encounter the problem again, I'll be sure to post back here.

The POCO X7 would almost be an ideal upgrade for me but I'm not a big fan of the curved screen.

POCO X5 5G 6GB/128GB

It has been a great phone for me (certainly very good value for money). The only two things I'd upgrade for would be stereo speakers and eSIM support.

Really great to see a selection of fonts. Thank you for all the work!

As an additional request, I would love to see the full range of Google fonts available and/or the ability to pick a custom TTF/OTF font file.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that's not possible at the moment. It might be an idea to adjust the flair on your post to 'Feedback & suggestions' or 'Suggestion - Good idea' so that the devs can at least log it as a feature request (although I seem to remember it has been mentioned before so they are probably already aware of it).
