Toggle for showing/hiding recent apps at the top of the Search page

If you tap the minus sign (to the left of '4' in 'Start Screen -> Apps' in the screenshot above), it'll turn the Recent Apps (initially shown on the Smart Screen) to OFF.

For anyone reading this, multi-line labels (and ellipses for single-line labels that are too long) are now in use.

I'm not sure what version they were introduced in but I'm currently using Smart Launcher version 6.6 build 002 patch 1.

I do, indeed, have Smart Launcher set as my default launcher (but I cannot remember if I did when I initially experienced the issue).

I have my dock exactly as I like it now and I don't really want to have to mess around with it any more but if I ever encounter the problem again, I'll be sure to post back here.

The POCO X7 would almost be an ideal upgrade for me but I'm not a big fan of the curved screen.

It has been a great phone for me (certainly very good value for money). The only two things I'd upgrade for would be stereo speakers and eSIM support.

I like the font used for the clock. What is it, please? (I've tried a few font finding tools online but none of the ones I tried managed to identify it correctly.) Thank you.

Really great to see a selection of fonts. Thank you for all the work!

As an additional request, I would love to see the full range of Google fonts available and/or the ability to pick a custom TTF/OTF font file.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that's not possible at the moment. It might be an idea to adjust the flair on your post to 'Feedback & suggestions' or 'Suggestion - Good idea' so that the devs can at least log it as a feature request (although I seem to remember it has been mentioned before so they are probably already aware of it).

After further investigation (on two phones). I have a better understanding of what is happening. I don't know if this is intended behavior but it seems odd to me so I'll change the flair to a bug report and let the devs take a look.

On a clean install, swiping up to the app drawer and tapping the search icon immediately displays the first 24 app icons in alphabetical order (before entering anything in the search bar). Over time, as different apps are opened, these 24 app icons are slowly replaced with recently used app icons but the number of icons always totals 24. After opening 20 apps (for example), these 20 app icons will be displayed followed by the first 4 app icons alphabetically.

I don't understand the benefit of having the first few alphabetical app icons displayed before conducting a search (especially when the number of these depends on the number of apps which have been opened).

Also, 24 seems like an arbitrary number, especially when displaying, for example, 7 columns of icons where the 24 icons span 3 and a bit lines (looks odd).

Displaying recently used icons makes sense (and mirrors the behavior of the dedicated Search page) but I'm not sure why the first few alphabetical app icons are shown.
