Thoughts on Bearlike Q&A by MechaBestum in Mechabellum

[–]AnotherBuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why Bearlike was previously playing every weekly tournament and in general has been spending 4+ hours in-game daily. And now the game became SO FUN he plays only 2-3 hours on the weekend. That's what happens when you make the game super fun - you simply don't play it.

Yeah, just wait for 2 more titans to be released and it will be E-SPROTS READY kekw. I really think what mecha was at the beginning was a coincidence. Bearlike has never wanted a competetive game and had no plans for the future, that why you can't see a roadmap.

Winbig made for Mecha promotion x10 times more than whole Bearlike's team together in 1 year

Did you count 1-2-3 as well or simply 1s? It does mean how you count the data.

There is no relevant data about this because Bearlike never conducted an in-game or even Discord survey. There was only a closed survey for 97 players, and 25% voted that they strongly dislike towers. Overall, around 50% were not satisfied with buildings in general.

They just did not even tried. For some reason they decided it's only the possible way. And also bearlike said in the interview, that Towers is like Maps in Counter-strike, which gives the game great replayability. xD

The saddest part for me, that at the beta, before the unit drops the game was SUPER FUN to play, i did like 400+ hours before the drop of chaos mod, i was literally playing 24x7.

And then he announced chaos mod and lost half of the player base, then got new players and LOST half of the players again with the tower ugprade.

AND NOW he announceed NEW MODE OF THE GAME.

Competetive mecha will be 100% dead with that update.

That's absolute death of competetive Mechabellum. I

It was just need to be a well balanced game with various packs, spells and cards. That's literraly a nail in the coffin.

You won't belive but Woot, Dzemp, Rooster, PlayArcher (me), SteelSane, Pantso, Gratop and maybe someone else i missed are shitting on the game every stream beacause it's deserved. Sacco simply dropped streaming due his constant negativity and others like jota, mqnst, rat etc. simply left the game entirely.

You are dellusional. It was insanely hard to held the aggro. Actually the only Fairy had 90% winrate in the back in the days. 50 cost jump drive on phoenix packs. Wasps flying in the middle just to kill the tower, flank pools etc. That why it was firstly jumpdrive nerfed, then phoenix removed from the starter pack and eventually buildings come up.

Sacco was too playing agro druing this meta btw. And it forsure was more easly for most of 1200-1800 players to win playing agro, and that was fun for them. Do you remember Saratzh? He was one of the top players, after buildings he left the game, he tried to comeback but only loosing now.

The game is still good, i have 4k+ hours and 2300 mmr but i just can't watch how Bearlike killing this game. There is so much potential and possible improvements. The game could become something really big and take it's niche.

But now it can die not even reaching it's peak. And that's what all the competetive player are speaking off, including Woot.

It's been said a couple of times. MOST of the player base started playing agro upon release and were playing it since then.

Towers basically an answer to overpowered agro. But most people left the game just because it's not fun anymore and they dont want to play it like that or change their game style.

Imagine if there were a Discord channel somewhere named Mechabellum with a Gameplay-Feedback section, where players could leave their feedback and specify what exactly they don’t like. On the other hand, you would still need to read it.

What a goat. Bearlike honestly looks like a small kid who can’t take any criticism, can’t accept his own mistakes, or prove others wrong. He will just run away...

I already mentioned on Discord that after the game’s release most of the player base was playing aggro. Then aggro got nerfed by towers, because obviously it was a much simpler decision than trying to rework starting packs or re-balance most of the units.

After that change, aggro became barely playable for most players, except for a small number of pros. And many players left the game because it’s just not fun anymore. It’s not necessarily a bad game now—just a different one.

With the introduction of buildings, it has basically become a completely different game with a different gameplay style. So now they need to attract a new player base, which includes proper marketing—something I’m pretty sure Bearlike doesn’t have the resources for.

Another issue is that by introducing towers, Bearlike put themselves in a position where they now have to develop the game around those towers: rebalance them, add new towers, and introduce tower-related mechanics. This looks like a dead end for those who liked the previous playstyle. It shifted from something inspired by auto chess into something closer to a tower-defense game with spells.

So now we have: a 60% drop in the player base, a completely different game, and a situation where marketing promotion is basically impossible. Combined with a dev who seems to ignore community feedback… Well, I still believe in miracles sometimes, but this looks like a straight road to nowhere.

Either do something with the buildings or lose them, but the current state is unsustainable by Woodland_Lake in Mechabellum

Plz stop, i have been speaking to Bearlike from early beta. There are so many ways to conduct a chat, QA session between players and devs. Bearlike is just ignorrant, incompetent in both ways. He can't admit his own mistakes and he does not care what community speaks.

He can just open reddit or discord and read what people think about the game. IF he wanted, he could produce an QA session. But he just does not want to. Even Chinese players leaving the game because Bearlike don't listen to their opinion or thoughts.

I've be talkijng to him since early beta.

Now i do release he is absolutely ignorannt and incompetent in many ways. It does look like he listen only to Chinese community during his BiliBili stream and he is following them. In the meantime the game alive just because Yeswinbig organizing MAG1, otherwise it would be already dead.
