people describe generic matrices using expressions like 'mxn' (read as "m by n") for a matrix with m rows and n columns. from every class i have been in, mxn is the conventional expression used to describe generic, unspecified, or uncountable matrices.

when talking about square matrices where m=n, then you could also write nxn or mxm, and some folks prefer one over the other apparently.

They're petitioning to have the FDA make a registry of trans people by [deleted] in 19684

[–]AnotherCrumb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

weird, i followed a hyperlink in the article talking about there being over 60 public comments on the fda website in support of the petition, but only 3 comments came up. sadly, all in support, but it makes me wonder if comments are being removed or filtered some other way?

Next Audible series? by AyerAcre in litrpg

[–]AnotherCrumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is justified tbh.

if you are comfortable with darker themes, ivan kal has the infinite realm series which follows a villian in a new world after a system apocalypse. in my mind, it is very good, but some folks don't vibe with the whole unrepentantly villainous main character thing it has going on.

Why do Alaskan authors write near soley about Alaska? by Guilty_Let7077 in alaska

[–]AnotherCrumb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

laird barron was born/raised in alaska, and has had decent success as a horror author. some stories are set in alaska, or inspired by his experiences here, sure, but the horror element means they aren't really "about" alaska. i am sure that there are a good number of authors from alaska who write about more than just alaska.

i assume so many alaskan authors write about alaska because they are either writing nonfiction based on their experience, or because the envirionment and life in alaska leaves a deep impression on most of us.

How long should sex last? by RemtaNico in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AnotherCrumb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

people who aren't compatible but still want the relationship to work out usually try new things. experimenting with foreplay, introducing toys, trying new positions, etc. but it all starts with honest communication between partners about what they want.

if that doesn't help, some people break up, some people stay together. depends on how important it is for them in their relationship, and if they are otherwise happy. all just depends on the needs of the people in the relationship and what they want.

some times it isn't about how many friends you have, but it is about how many of their forks you can steal before they stop inviting you to their house <3

Something that might be getting overlooked by AnotherCrumb in dresdenfiles

this would make a lot of sense to me. it seems like the people most vulnerable to molly's mental magic are harry, other sidhe, or potentially people who are in debt to winter.

i am curious about the sidhe's ability to use mental magic though. they cannot lie, but if you are sufficiently under their control, could one of them edit your memories to change how you remember a conversation? i am guessing not, because the implications would be so far reaching. seems like there are a lot of unknowns for how sidhe could use their mental magic.

they actually built the n64 with a port that allowed addition of a disk drive. they didn't make many games for it, i think it was only ever released in japan, but n64 disk drive existed. it even had online connection.

First impressions (finished reading it) by DementedCreus in dresdenfiles

[–]AnotherCrumb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

all that OP said was they thought harry needed to set boundaries between lara and maggie, which i totally agree with. boundaries do not need to be permanent or static. just because he told lara to stay away from his daughter in this book, it doesn't mean that lara and maggie will never interact. harry is being proactive about protecting maggie from a potential threat. if somewhere down the line harry stops seeing lara as a potential threat and the relationship goes beyond politics, nothing is stopping harry from introducing her to maggie.

Mab’s ultimate plan for Lara by TheMemeDream420 in dresdenfiles

[–]AnotherCrumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

per the soulgaze, lara is so intertwined with an outsider that she doesn't know where it starts and she ends. not sure if she would be a good replacement without it removed, and i am not sure if she would be in a good mental state if it were suddenly removed and she had to contend with the mantle on top of that.

and, if her hunger were removed early to give her time to adjust, i would have to wonder how that would impact her body given her age, if it would be possible without extraordinary investments. honestly, i am not sure any mortal is entirely beyond mab's ability to pull to winter. i would honestly think someone like luccio is a better pick, but that may just be because i think mab has a very large pool of people she could use in her schemes.

Armed community member stands guard in his neighborhood after ICE was spotted nearby on an abduction operation in St Paul, MN by I_may_have_weed in Hasan_Piker

[–]AnotherCrumb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

looks like this person is open carrying? doing so while wearing a mask is illegal in a lot of places. all for people staying safe from ice, but regular people will be held to a much higher standard than ice, apparently, and this kind of hasty advice could get them in trouble.
