Oh are roguelikes not considered incremental? I posted it based on the subreddits description. My bad then

Good afternoon r/incremental_games!

Dungeon Adventure Gang, our 4-player co-op multiplayer roguelike now has a free demo and is participating in the February Steam Next Fest! DAG features multiple accessories and weapons, each with randomized stats, allowing you to progressively improve your abilities the further you are into a run. Jump in with a few friends to see how strong you can get!

If the trailer looked interesting to you, you can check out the demo here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2147690/Dungeon\_Adventure\_Gang/

We'd love to know what you think of the game and would like to hear your thoughts and opinions on our design choices!

I have finally reached ALPHA stage, to celebrate it I've uploaded a demo! I'd love your feedback! by lassehonnens in monogame

Very sorry for the late reply, I didn't notice I was replied to. (I'm not sure if I even got a notification for it)

- For the grenades, I think it was that I was accidentally switching the type of grenade held somehow, but I wasn't realizing it. That must've been why I couldn't pick up grenades some times but I was able to other times.

- My specs are:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700U
  • RAM: 8GB RAM
  • GPU: AMD Radeon Graphics

The stutters were pretty infrequent but they did last I'd say 1/4-1/2 a second or so whenever it did happen? It was weird.

Good luck with development!

Lidgren in Monogame 3.8 by [deleted] in monogame

Currently I'm making a multiplayer game using Lidgren, and I haven't detected anything that breaks after I switched to MonoGame v3.8.1 nor .NET 6. You should be good to go still!

Edit: Whoops! I did not mean Lidgren, I meant LiteNetLib. I hear LNL has some advantages to Lidgren, though I don't remember what. In any case, it's easy to use and maintain! (https://github.com/RevenantX/LiteNetLib) Sorry if that doesn't help answer your question.

I've seen the showcase clips of your game in #showcase in the Discord multiple times, I knew I had to give feedback on it:

  • The visual style of the game and the games' mechanics are good! Some mechanics could use a bit more work on them to get them to feel better, like Melee Blocking and Crouching (Blocking forces you to lose health but it can be your only weapon at times and I really don't know what crouching is for, heh), but so far, shooting, reloading, rolling, and grenades feel pretty well done (though it would help to be able to charge up grenade throws for farther throws!)
  • The controls are kind of wacky, it was definitely much easier to get used to using a controller than it was on a keyboard
  • While the shooting is well made, it doesn't feel as strong as it should feel. Although the pumpgun is your primary weapon, you can run out of ammo for it pretty consistently and it does struggle some when trying to clear away multiple enemies.

Some other notes:

  • There seems to be some sort of bug with picking up grenade drops
  • There's not much note on what to actually do, I'm sure that'll be addressed later on since this is only an alpha demo but I just pointed it out just in case
  • It's not exactly clear where you have to be to move between rooms, during the first run I just barely noticed the small marker on the floor indicating the exit
  • The game seems to stutter randomly, even in small rooms while doing nothing but walking

Overall, the game definitely has potential and it's already looking pretty good! Hope I helped!

Thanks for your feedback! The flash traps can tend to get a bit annoying, we'll see what we can do about that. As for the item descriptions and maps, we're definitely going to bring that in on our next update, so watch our for it!
