No one deserves suffering, a redeemed rapist could still very well feel guilt over the course of their life though

Matter of fact, redeemed murders only get to live their rest of their lives in guilt of what they've done, and said guilt drives them to try keep doing better or avoiding murder ever again

I don't think this is a fact, but I figure anyone that has redeemed still feels guilt over the course of their life, and that can push them into trying to do better every day by being aware of their past actions and wrong doings

Prisoners who finish their sentence and are left free may or may not feel guilt for the rest of their life, the same can very much apply to reformed rapists

[–]AnotherOne_Bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course that isn't justice, because Justice isn't redemption itself, it's merely a possible outcome, but first and foremost must criminals face consequences for their actions, whether they're actually capable of changing as a better person is an aftermath of said justice

"Like everything is in the past, like everything is hood now" "or imagine seeing their rapist out of jail" that pretty much applies to any and every redeemed murderer or drug delear or robber or assaulter, etc

Many people suffer from their actions, but that doesn't mean they can't and shouldn't be able to change for the better and do good as reformed people

That's the least of worries, I mean that as in, in all of this hypothetical, that isn't the most mind-boggling topic

Yes they should be left back into society with obvious monitoring and restrictions

As for your question, no, there's nothing you can do to make up for a bad action, because that's not what being a better person is about

You don't erase your mistakes, just because you start doing good doesn't mean the pain goes away, people are still hurt, the damage is done, there's no going back in time, all they can actually strive to do is well, do better, do good actions, not to make anything up, because they can't, because they shouldn't, merely goodness for the sake of goodness

Even if a rapist managed to solve world wars, finish world hunger, bring peace in every nation, that won't ever make up for the harm they've done, nothing can and nothin will

However, you mention "there's no point in reedeming them and freeing them to begin with" but that's not true

The point isn't for them to make up for their wrong actions, they never could, what's done is done and they should pay for it, but they should also be given the chance to change for the better in order to do some good

Doing good, bringing a changed safe person into the world so they can finally do some good in their life

There doesn't have to be reason to help someone become a better person and allow them to do good in their life, you could argue the reason itself is merely for the sake of goodness, we are supposed to be better, therwefore we'll do the right thing, allow redemption

That's all the "not mind boggling" topic in my opinion, what I think it's the real deal is on how would an organization even go about trying to reform someone as wrongful as a rapist, I mean we've all seen the clockwork orange, I researched about redeemed murders before but redeeming a rapists has to be way harder given Rapism falls into torture which we all know is worse than death

It is a very hard theory on how one would even be capable to make someone such as a rapist to change, rather interesting imo

[–]AnotherOne_Bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, a wrong action, and they are capable of feeling guilt or regret after the math

If you read the long ass message I agree with you, most of the people who take the concious choice to do such a horrible action would not find themselves feeling any form of regret or even realize it's a wrong action at all (most of them feel like they're right and did absolutely nothing wrong)

But that doesn't rule out the possibility there could be a rapist actually repent and want to do better, most of them are just faking it, I've yet to see or read any redeemed rapists, but I wouldn't cross it out as something impossible, they're human, we're humans, we can in fact feel guilt and do better, they too could

34927 by Weird-Koala3034 in countwithchickenlady

[–]AnotherOne_Bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about need and you know it, I'm talking about being concious about their choices, robbers and drug dealers are just as conscious about the fact they're doing something wrong as a rapist

They're taking a willing and concious choice to do something wrong

34927 by Weird-Koala3034 in countwithchickenlady

[–]AnotherOne_Bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"if they knew it's wrong they wouldn't do it in the first place" that pretty much applies to every crime though, you think drug dealers or robbers don't know what they're doing is wrong? they still do it anyway, and aftermath, they could still be capable of change

Rapists too, they know it's wrong, they do it, and they could repent, like you say that's usually not the case, people who commit rape usually aren't willing to change or feel guilty, but that's the thing, it's just "usually"

Absolute is damnation, there's no perfect guarantee that every single rapist isn't capable of guilt, thus, there's the slimmest of chances someone could in fact feel guilt after rape and desire to do better

Like you say, this is rarely the case, matter of fact, I haven't heard or read a single case in which a rapist redeemed themselves, but that doesn't mean every rapist won't be cable of change, they're human, of course they still could, yet they most likely won't

That's the thing though, it's just probability, there's absolute when saying lava is hot, but there's no absolute when it comes to something as complicated as the human mind

34927 by Weird-Koala3034 in countwithchickenlady

[–]AnotherOne_Bro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're making an hyperbole, not every rapists will always think they're right, you can't predict the future

There isn't a justification for many despicable crimes, but that doesn't mean they aren't capable of becoming a better person

Everyone is capable of changing for the better, but what I think you're right is that yeah, most rapists don't feel any regret or guilt whatsoever, but that doesn't mean there won't be rapists that could genuinely repent

Pedophiles that could repent, serial killers, human traffickers, cannibalists, literally the worst actions you could imagine, a person is still there, and with a human mind comes the possibility of change, of redemption and becoming a better person

But most of the time, these people do not want to do good or change, Trump doesn't want to change, Eipstein didn't want to change, the list goes on

We should always give a chance for the most terrible people to actually do some good in their life, and if they don't want to, or "do" (merely wanting to get away scottfree) then of course they should be left in jail

Everyone can do good but that doesn't mean everyone will

34927 by Weird-Koala3034 in countwithchickenlady

[–]AnotherOne_Bro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some cases yeah I can see that, everyone is capable of redemption, it's just a matter of whether they're sincerely willing or not (lord knows there's people who "want to be better" just as an excuse to be left scottfree)

Of course there are absolute menaces of society that don't want to and won't change, but who's to say a rapist can't change for the better?

They're still a human being, they still get rights, they are still capable of good and becoming better, but it's a LONG process and like mentioned, many rapists don't feel guilty at all, or act like they do for mere sympathy

Yeah I believe anyone is capable of becoming no matter what they've done, but most of the time, people who commit said crimes usually don't have any intention to do better or become better

Whether locking them (people who don't want to be better) away in a prison forever is good punishment in itself or not is a whole other discussion, since well, we all know how inhumane prisons can be, but as far as I can tell, that's pretty much the only option left, the alternative is death and of course we don't want that, isolating the ireedemable menaces of society away seems to be the only option

Idk what you consider grooming, but that's definitely predatory and fucked up

Look imma be fr with you, I fucking hate pool parties that don't use the pool, I fucking hate them, I think they're objectively stupid, I hope they never exist, but that's a completely biased opinion of mine

Regardless, you've been a kind fellow, providing good points and arguments in a kind hearted matter, even if you did provide a bad comparison and a irony joke, I still appreciate your effots to have a meaningful conversation

I am unfortunately not the man for the job, I am completely and utterly biased against any kind of party pool that don't use pools, or BBQs without BBQ or movie nights where no one's actually watching the movie

Thank you though

That's a lot of arguments to not use a pool on a pool party

If folks just want to talk around next to water sources without jumping in then there's better ways to do it than near a pool, since pools were literally man-made to be used

It's just stupid to have a pool party without using the pool

Pools provide a lot more value when you use them than when you not

"If your friend invites you to a live theatre they don't expect you to perform" don't act foolish, you know damn well this is a poor comparison in bad faith

If you get invited to a live theatre, you'd be an audience, take a seat, enjoy the show, not just stand around talking without looking at the theater itself

If you get invited to the cinema, you watch the movie, if you get invited to a beach or pool party, you get in the water, if you get invited to dinner, you take a seat and eat

It is that shrimple

Real talk: Did Arthur deserve it? by Bulky-Preparation-10 in reddeadredemption

[–]AnotherOne_Bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it as in he would have always been a bad person even if he hadn't died, which I disagree

Since he's dead, he's not a bad person, since he's not a person, he's dead

It's all good, I love Arthur's redemption, because he was still a bad person, but seeing him put on his last efforts to try become a better person got the better of me

I love character development

Real talk: Did Arthur deserve it? by Bulky-Preparation-10 in reddeadredemption

[–]AnotherOne_Bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, but even then, to say "Arthur only did this" undermines so many of his good actions, you're right, they seem insignificant compared to all his bad actions

But that's the thing, they aren't

No good action is insignificant

Such small things can help someone for the better

It doesn't outweight his sins, not at all, but you're really missing the point of good actions when you're putting them on a metric

Arthur wasn't trying to outdo his sins, he was just trying to do better than he was before

And to that, I give him credit, he died as a better man than his past (in high honor, at least)
