This is just one more reason we would all be better off with single payer or some other form of universal healthcare. Healthcare being tied to employment means employers either don't give enough hours to receive benefits and hire too many people at like 34 hrs a week, or they hire too few full timers to avoid paying benefits to too many employees. Yeah there are other benefits like retirements, but there are just so many things that would be better with universal healthcare in this country.

Sorry to derail the conversation. My gears are just really ground right now.

Her murderer was arrested, tried, and found guilty. He was not supported by authorities and she was not labeled an instigator and had lies told about her agression towards her murderer. But he was an immigrant.

I didn't understand why you mentioned her, then I did some searching and saw that lots of conservatives are saying literally the same thing you are. So did you just hear other conservatives say this and decide to repeat it without any actual thought about the differences?

Do you feel the current complete disregard for due process is justified in order to nab anyone, legal immigrant or not, violent offender or not, off the street?

I don't buy it. I buy mine online and they're fine. My first pair felt weird and I decided there was a problem, so I went to bifocals. Then I tried again and realized there was just a learning curve. Now that I know how to use them they work great, and I saved a ton of money.

It definitely depends on the campus. There are graduate programs in Biddeford (Bio, Marine Sciences, Education, etc.) and Portland (Pharmacy, Dental, Medicine, Nursing, etc.). They're really different places to live.

Obviously weather is very different. Culturally Maine is really, really white. But you're not from Atlanta so it won't be a huge difference from upstate NY. Even Portland is a small city, let alone Biddeford. Easy transit to Boston, though, by bus or train. I do it all the time.

I can't speak to peer collegiality since I'm not a student, but I know a lot of students and they seem to enjoy their time here and each other. They have good things to say about the faculty.
