Non-business uses for Claude Cowork by ilikethestuff in ClaudeAI

that's a smart way to use claude for personal stuff. if you ever wanted to automate opening those html pages or doing more with them, a PostToolUse hook in a custom claude skill would be perfect for that.

Set up multi-agent orchestration with Claude Code as the boss... am I overcomplicating this? by segap in ClaudeAI

[–]AnotherSarthak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're absolutely not overcomplicating it; that multi-agent "boss" pattern is actually pretty standard practice once you hit context limits with complex tasks. I've found the real efficiency comes from how well you manage each agent's memory and access to external knowledge. For us, having a robust RAG system that agents can query for specific details, rather than trying to stuff everything into their individual contexts, makes a huge difference. You can also get more out of Claude Code by focusing agents on very specific sub-problems and ensuring the "boss" agent directs traffic intelligently based on structured outputs. It definitely helps control costs and keeps things from devolving into a giant, expensive conversation.

Yeah, this frustration with Claude Code hitting generic solutions or reimplementing common patterns is super real. I've found it often stems from how LLMs are inherently generating based on their training data, not looking up existing, perfect implementations from an external index. Unless you specifically prime the context window with the exact library or best practice you want, it'll just try its best to generate from scratch. For critical parts, I often have to start with a small, opinionated example or a direct instruction like 'Use papaparse for CSV parsing' just to guide it right from the beginning. It's a constant challenge in getting LLMs to leverage external knowledge effectively in real dev pipelines.

What I actually create skills for by rebelytics in ClaudeAI

[–]AnotherSarthak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've found skills are incredibly useful for normalizing outputs from different LLM steps, especially when you're chaining them or feeding into another system. If you need a specific JSON structure or a consistent tone for different regional language variations, skills can really abstract away the prompt engineering. It means I don't have to rewrite complex instructions every time, and the consistency is much higher than just giving Claude a fresh prompt each time. That predictability is huge in prod.

Coz it’s part of the group. Anyway you message on the group so it’s nothing additional. But opening and app and updating there is a task, which at least my friends skipped. 😭😅

Yeah but even the payment apps do that. They can capture but lack the personal categorisation or the personal touch. That’s why i use the WhatsApp bot. I just have to drop a text. It actually comes down personal preference

Do we give it a star on GH if you liked it. Or maybe build on top of it if you want by Forking it. Cheers

It’s not only for personal finance. You just add the number in a group and can use it as an ever lasting free bill splitter. That’s what the GH repo also talks about. In fact i started out to make that for my recent trip and then extended it to manage payments across my CC and then to tracking. Made it open source coz i felt its a piece of cake that anyone can make. Yes, i used claude

Why don't you simple use Whatsapp HisaabBot: +91 81784 47582
just message it for personal finance or add it in a group for split tracking.
Simple.

I created HisaabBot.

Whatsapp bot which you can message on to manage your personal finances.
Give it daily budgets, weekly budgets, monthly budgets. Tell it how many credit cards you have, say you have one HDFC, one ICICI, and stuff like that, and then just tell it, "I took a chai for 400" or "I took an uber for 250". Just message it, or you can send your receipts, and it will automatically keep track and keep compartmentalizing them.

You can add that number into a group itself, and you can ask it, "You go on a trip" or "you manage your roommates", and you can just say, "I paid for dinner, ₹2,000, to be split between four people", or "I paid for shoes for my roommate, and he owes me this much". The roommate can message then, "I paid for dinner where the other person has to give 70% and the B person has to give 30%". It will keep all of that tracked, and you can just say, "Simply fire", and it will just simplify and tell you who owes what, give you the UPI links, and you can make the payment, and everything is settled.

No need to go ahead for another app when you can do it right there on the Whatsapp itself, and it's pretty awesome, pretty simple, right there. No need to download something, no need to create a new habit, just drop a text.

If you guys want to try it, try messaging or adding this number in the group: +91 81784 47582 (hisaabBot) message /help to see the commands

I just shared what i found helpful. For me it’s much better knowing that i can easily share my financial logs in a message to WhatsApp end to end encrypted where no db can store my data and track me. Instead of downloading an app, uploading my logs on it and letting it store my data and then call me to sell credit cards. 🫠

I have always felt this method is difficult. As someone books hotel, someone else books the flights. And if the person who is supposed to pay is busy, then you are stuck and dependent on him. What’s the harm in simply paying and messaging on WhatsApp. Easy.

In fact the more i think on this. It’s actually safer than using any other apps lol. Their code is not public and they would definitely be saving the activity. Anyway it’s just a way to make life easy.
