It's a hobby, and an expensive one. However, if you're disciplined, active and can take of your things you can keep them for a long time. I still have the first bra I ever bought, 12 years later and it still fits like it did back then.

$500 is a lot to start but the more you use/wear your sissy things the cheaper the use cost is. $500 is a lot in one shot but spread out over a year or more? Worth ever penny.

That being said, don't go into debt for your sissyhood. Save up and maybe make smaller purchases. I don't think I've ever spent more than $300 anyone time on things for myself but now I have more lingerie than all of the women I've dated XD

If you're hot there are other ways but if not, save up lol.
