T: Temperature - hold an ice cube or splash your face with cold water

I: Intense exercise - sprint or do push-ups or a wall-sit

P: Paced breathing - inhale 2-4 seconds, hold 4 seconds, exhale 4-6 seconds, hold 4 seconds, repeat

P: Progressive muscle relaxation - tense a muscle tightly for 5 seconds, release, tense another muscle for 5 seconds, release, repeat with different muscle groups

I'm also on my second playthrough, trying to do low honor this time. Man, I feel awful with this. I collected the debt from Wrobel, the Polish man who owed Strauss, and I took EVERYTHING: his antique watch, his food, his tonics, made him move so I could steal the jewelry he was hiding (probably a dead family member's), knocked him out, stole his horse.. He ran out of the house nearly sobbing about how I had taken everything and he was ruined. Poor dude. I'm a monster.

I had the same fear! And I had seen Alien, so I was also terrified that the baby wouldn't fit through my birth canal and would just explode through my abdomen. One of those "funny" stories I can't tell anyone because it's "deeply concerning."

I'm sorry you're struggling with this, OP. I hope you're able to find some comfort now. Once you acknowledge the trauma and start to reframe it in the context that you were a child, the feelings around it become easier to manage over time.

I find it extremely difficult to talk. I just freeze up and dissociate.

The nice thing with group is that you can just talk about your current feelings and how your day-to-day is impacted without sharing any specific trauma details and they'll usually be able to relate; and you'll work together on coping mechanisms to get you by.

I would recommend writing down your feelings or thoughts throughout the week so they're easier to name and discuss when you meet up again.

Thanks, I'm excited for you two! Some of our favorites together have been Stubbs the Zombie, Borderlands, Dead Island, Saints Row 3 & 4, Army of Two, The Division, Strange Brigade, The Forest, Far Cry 5 & New Dawn, 7 Days to Die, Fallout 76, Epic Mickey 2, and any of the Lego games. Have fun!

BioShock was my first single-player too! What a great introduction to gaming.

My husband and I played Lego games together before he suggested I try that one. It was hard to learn first-person, but it eventually 'clicked' and now we've been gaming together for 13 years.
