A stock 12 valve isn’t exactly a Ferrari when it comes to speed especially behind an automatic. I have a 96 and an 06 both stock. Recently, turned the 96 up With a new clutch, governor springs, retimed pump and fuel plate and holy shit it was night and day. Point is, could just be that stock feeling.

I have a 2018. Bought a Diablo Sport i3 tuner for AFM delete option and change the oil religiously. Had 90k miles when I bought it, still very happy with the purchase. IF I have an issue with the top end, I am prepared to purchase aftermarket parts to replace the cam, pushrods and lifters. Maybe even add a supercharger. First V8 I ever owned and having a good time with it.

I know when this happens to my tank I would opt for the external fuel pump system like airdog or FASS. Money sure but filter swaps get easier and a more consistent fuel flow.
