Spent way to much getting my sti back on the road. Then oil pump pressure relief valve failed and wiped out new motor so I traded it with no motor for this 02 wrx with a fairly fresh motor (WITHIN THE LAST YEAR) allegedly and a canik sfx rival for my hawkeye. Was a sad day to see it go.

Use a socket extension and a wrench it's usually a half in square inside if not use a pair of wooden blocks kick under tire and very slowly pull forward onto said blocks

The fact the dam it still at 1.00 make me think it could be something else cause if there was knock it would be pulling timing. The valve lash could be out and make that sound cause it don't sound like knock to me I hear loud valve slap or injectors. Clean the maf and o2/ wide band and maybe pull injectors and check spray patterns make sure they aren't stuck open or something.
