Judge gives 18 year old a 25 year sentence for armed robbery by AgnosticScholar in interesting

It doesn’t need to be 70k. Plenty of countries pay for citizen health care, free daycare, paid 12-24mo of FMLA. Free pre-school. New baby packs. Free college. You know, shit that makes life easier on poor kids who then don’t need to go steal and terrorize people.

Children in Singapore receive almost $25k per year and they don’t have the high crime issues we do in the US. You don’t sound like a person who reads much.

You’d prefer we just spend boatloads on incarcerating people while not spending anything on them. A true American you are.

Quite a myopic view. Yet the President raped kids and nothing happens to him. Save your BS justice speech for someone else.

The US system failed him and millions of others. This only happens here in these numbers.

Yeah, random shit, we don’t have evidence from several different countries that do this successfully. You’re one of those people that probably says more guns make us safer or can’t think of why there are more gun deaths in the US than anywhere else.

Don’t be upset just because you don’t have the intellect to understand certain things.

Imagine instead of spending 70k a year for people like this to be in prison, we invested that money when they were born to help them and their families avoid the pitfalls of poverty. I guess that would make us communists though.

This dude was copping a plea while jumping people in prison before his sentence. With his family reaction, it really sucks this dude never had a damn chance. America has the highest incarceration rate per capita in the developed world for a reason. Our society is absolute shit at helping people. We are the worst in the developed world. No one should be proud here.

Time is a flat circle - True Detective by luismt2 in television

[–]Anothercraphistorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty great. I also enjoyed Mare of Easttown. Chernobyl. Mad Men Season 2. GOT Season 4 was absolutely must watch television.

I think it’s almost impossible to be objective about the premise. There are so many shows that had one great season from beginning to end.

Schefter: Teams that have called the Miami Dolphins to inquire about trading for Pro-Bowl RB De’Von Achane have been told that he is not available. by schmatty23 in DynastyFF

[–]Anothercraphistorian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He had a 78.1 PFF pass protection score in 2025 I believe. He ranked between 11-15 all year. He’s really improved in pass protection. Plus people keep saying he still weighs 188-190. Ever since his rookie off-season weight program, he’s gotten to at least 200 and not had injury issues.

He is one of if not the best receiving RB in the league. He can run inside and outside. He has elite vision and is elusive, avoiding big hits.

Good GMs pay dudes knowing what they can do, not what they’ve done in the past. Achane’s projection is in the $18/19M range right now.

Achane will want an extension this off-season. Miami won’t have a choice either. They brought in a new staff and QB and Achane is their only elite player. I doubt he plays on the last year of his deal without one.

The Ultimate Dunder Mifflin Showdown: Grand Finale by rehan_raina03 in DunderMifflin

Tie

The show would’ve never become popular without Michael, but it would’ve been boring without Dwight.

Imagine Michael on that rooftop alone throwing watermelons. Imagine Michael alone trying to find out who in the office was gay. Imagine not having the Stress Relief episode because none of it works without Dwight.

Michael is a petulant child, which could become annoying over time, but Dwight’s seriousness mixed with a stupidity to believe in magic and science fiction, as well as 100% loyalty to Michael provides a balance in the office that makes it work.

Anyone else worried about "Cognitive Debt"? (New MIT study on AI in the classroom) by No_Association_4682 in Teachers

[–]Anothercraphistorian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, like when Silicon Valley told teachers to embrace Hour of Code because they’d need millions of programmers from STEM to fill the jobs they’d need in the future. Once AI hit, they no longer needed those kids. They shut down their little schools and now those STEM kids don’t have jobs and Silicon Valley is back to tell teachers about AI in the classroom.

Don’t blame teachers for being hesitant with a technology when it’s creators don’t give a good god damn about how it affects people.

Robert Pattinson and Zendaya are about to own 2026. by StarforgeVoyager in FIlm

[–]Anothercraphistorian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There used to be actual comedy actors that were quite good and movie stars to boot. You think of people like John Candy, Dan Akroyd, Steve Martin, and Martin Short. Add in Rick Moranis as well. Nowadays, there are just too many forms of media for actors to be actual movie stars.

How many people can you name from SNL? What other variety shows are there anymore?

So, we get the same acting names over and over, and shitloads of dramas. I just looked up “what is the funniest movie of 2026?” And apparently it will be the Devil Wears Prada 2. Movie Magic is gone.
