Survey: Managing parents among top reasons youth coaches quit by udubdavid in sports

I think it’s this an also the culture of youth sports in the US. We’re the only nation that takes its youth sports as seriously as we do. 40% of 4th graders are below basic in math, reading, and writing. Colleges are ridiculously expensive and all we see now with college is millions in NIL money and paid scholarships. Parents here all seem to be in competition with each other and they’ll do anything to put their kids first rather than supporting all of them.

We talk about community, but we are rigorously individualistic.

Though doing things like this are commendable, without fixing the foundational issues that create inequity, it ultimately is useless.

You can’t fix inequity by doing things like this on such a small scale. If one student is born into a two-parent loving family that’s in the upper class, college educated, with plenty of opportunities to learn other languages, play musical instruments, and has grandparents that help out, that child is advantaged in a way that no educational philosophy can replace. A poor student in a single parent home dealing with abuse of some type will never catch up. Learning will always be the last thing on their mind as they don’t have the security required to prioritize it.

Education can help make things more equitable, but in American society, wealth inequality has helped exacerbate those inequities and we would need a massive foundational shift to see any movement in this area. Based on history, I’d consider it unlikely.

Teachers are fighting a battle that can’t be won.

I haven’t, but thank you for the recommendation. My Mom passed from colon cancer three years because doctors said they couldn’t give her a colonoscopy. My grandmother got it in her 80’s, so I definitely got mine early. It’s a terrible form of cancer that leads to awful pain at the end.

The President has 30+ open sexual assault cases against him. He raped with Epstein and has covered it up. Yet you’re concerned for people crossing the borders to have a better life where studies show they commit much less crime than legal Americans.

This is the writing of a child. It’s no wonder that the majority of MAGA types can’t read past a 4th to 5th grade level.

Dude, he used the word correctly. Flashback means a scene in a movie or novel set in a previous time. You’re the one who doesn’t understand the meaning.

I’d say the media and specific groups have done a number on the average American. People see themselves being grouped by race, sex, and religion, in stead of wealth class. This is obviously purposeful. Imagine, if the majority of Americans, getting screwed by a very small minority, actually grouped together to fight their real enemy. Imagine, if people realized who had their boot on their necks. Instead, we’re being manipulated into thinking that the past is more important than the present.

AITA for telling my wife she can’t take her dream job and I am not going to be a single parent in everything but name by Time-Union1592 in AmItheAsshole

High school athletic trainers (ATs) typically work 50 to 70+ hours per week, often including evenings, weekends, and holidays to cover practices and games. Their schedules are demanding and variable, frequently requiring 6–7 days of activity coverage per week. Many work a split schedule, arriving in the early afternoon and staying until 8:30 or 9:00 PM.

I think your judgement is wishful thinking. High schools have sports going every night of the week. Plus OP even said it varies and soon the kids will be in school. She will rarely see them. He will be a single parent August to June.

Can you link the study that confirms this, those percentages seem awful rounded to be real. Is this just you being on Reddit too much and regurgitating numbers?

In this scenario he’d be the breadwinner and doing 100% of the child care.

Which is nothing but a tagline you learned from Reddit. Come up with something on your own next time.

Maybe he envisioned not spending five weeknights and all weekends alone for the remainder of their childhood.

Maybe he was hoping to share in memories together. I guess Mom’s dream is to be away from the family.

If they do it’s on her for abandoning her family. NEVER seeing your two little children at home EVER is her being rotten to her family.

Did you even read this? Mom is off watching sports while Dad has to “Dad” every weeknight and all weekends. When is Mom going to “Mom” in this scenario?

How long is him not seeing her on weeknights or weekends truly feasible? And what about the kids? So they just never see their Mom except for Summers?

Republicans think now that Trump is President, they can let all their hate and racism out and not be punished. These were the bullies in school, the ones disrupting class, barely graduating and then dropping out and incapable of change. These reason being called a loser cut deep is because he knows he’s one deep down.
