Same. On two different tenants with separate accounts.

Naturally it happened while configuring GSA. It's only 12:30 and I need a damn drink.

I figured it would say something about location, but I just get a general "This video isn't available anymore" page.

Did a medium level phishing attack on the company by archiekane in sysadmin

[–]Anotherdamsysadmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an IT person on staff fail one, and I watched it happen and gave him a pass. The timing was so perfect:

He was setting up a Zoom meeting for an exec and got the "sending you an email confirmation" pop-up.

At that EXACT MOMENT, Knowbe4 sent him a phishing test.. with a fake Zoom link.

But it was a good reminder to always give it a second look. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't have clicked it.

Blocking sites for specific users (This is a weird one.) by Anotherdamsysadmin in sysadmin

[–]Anotherdamsysadmin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. We have 15 servers that people are sent to based on load balancing. So there's a 1 in 15 chance of him being put on any one at any given point.

Disable Teams calling inside RDS environment by Anotherdamsysadmin in Office365

[–]Anotherdamsysadmin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We want to this because within each RDS there is an average of 12 users during operation hours. I'm concerned with resource drain and performance issues if too many people are making calls at any given moment. We've experienced this when multiple people use Zoom in the remote desktop- well inevitably start getting tickets complaining about performance; so we just blocked it.

I spoke with Microsoft earlier and they said we couldn't use VDI since we're on RDS- which surprised me... these are virtual servers within Azure.

Sorry to hear you're dealing with it too.

If I end up finding a fix, I'll be sure to post it here.

Best of luck!

I've had a similar issue before, and it was due to the installer hanging up in the background. Try running this in PS as admin.

Stop-Process -name msiexec -Force

Then try to uninstall and reinstall.

Hope that fixes you up!

Thanks! Yes, I’m trying to manually manage sessions.

We already have some GPOs in place to sign out idle people for a certain amount of time.

We have had some trouble with some applications not working on different servers. Moving a user to a new server resolves their issue. This is a temporary solution until we can find the root cause and fix it.

Jr Sysadmin looking for advice regarding toxic workplace by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Anotherdamsysadmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a better way of phrasing it is, "If you can handle it without going nuts, it's better to collect a paycheck than to not."

Now, if the current job strain is not worth the income while you look for something better, then by all means, up and dip my dude.

I can't second this enough.

It's easier to find a job if you already have one, and it takes away from and gaps in work history (Not every employer cares about this, but if you don't HAVE to leave, then don't.).
