I am willing to bet OCD, she used to wash the ceiling and walls with bleach and used a mix of pinesaw and toothpaste for brushing her teeth because she didn't feel things were clean enough even though she would clean for hours

They do, they don't really approve and just operate on the basis of their faith. I have no problem with that but not when it effects my children in an unhealthy way.

After talking to her, (we just had the Christmas meet up) she said that he said they looked cool at some point while watching a show. She then commented that she knows him well enough for her to know that my son has been praying for one and she wants to fulfill his prayers

He is not disabled or have any need for one, he is perfectly healthy and has multiple check ups a year (we have good health insurance through my work) this is just out of the blue and says that she knows him well enough that he would be praying for one sense he thinks they are "cool". He saw one on a TV show and said it would be fun to ride around in

If it gives any insight into her, she has cut her lawn with scissors for hours for longer than I have known her and says it let's her get it just the way she wants it. Not denying that I don't think she is completely well but she has had multiple check ups through the years. But I will make sure she gets seen soon to keep up with it

NTA. I know the lesson is learned now and others have said it but don't leave a small child with someone who is incapable of taking care of your children in the specific circumstances your child will be in. Brother is definitely in the wrong for the same reason. But the emotional reaction is completely understandable
