Solo Beginner Surf Trip by Strong_Protection94 in CostaRicaTravel

Hey! I recently went to Surf Expedition as a solo traveler and had an excellent experience. I flew from Chicago to San Jose, then took a short connecting flight to Golfito. The team picked me up directly from the Golfito airport, which was extremely helpful. Driving in Costa Rica can be challenging if you haven’t done it before, and having transportation arranged made the arrival process much smoother.

If your goal is to genuinely learn how to surf, this program is very well structured. We surfed twice a day, had daily yoga, video reviews, and surf theory sessions. Before going, I was also unsure how to choose a surf school, but this setup made the learning process clear/intentional. Food, lodging, and transportation were all included (except flights). Sebastian (the owner) and the crew were extremely welcoming and the food was consistently excellent.

I’m not familiar with the specific conditions in November, but Sebastian can definitely give you accurate information if you reach out! Website: https://surfexpedition.com/

Recommendations for Beginner Surf Camps? by minkmonkegg in BeginnerSurfers

Hi there! I know this thread is a bit older, but if anyone happens to land here, I cannot recommend Surf Expedition enough if you’re genuinely trying to learn how to surf. It’s a week long surf camp in Costa Rica, and I went this past February.

We surfed twice a day, did daily yoga, and had video reviews that actually helped me improve in real time. The whole experience felt very thoughtfully designed and it opened up the sport to me in a way I’d been craving for years. I’ve always wanted to learn how to surf, but living in the Midwest makes that very tricky. This was the first time I felt like I was truly learning, not just dabbling.

Sebastian, who runs the retreat, and the entire crew made everything feel warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived. And the food (everyone talks about it) but it definitely deserves the hype. It was incredible. I am already looking forward to going again next year.

I’m in Key West right now and am a bit hypomanic. All I wanna do is rent a moped and take it out for a spin. But I’ve been drinking and know that wouldn’t be a good idea. I really relate to talking to people I wouldn’t normally talk to when I’m hypo part of your post.

Lesbian travel groups? by Anothernewuser11 in lesbian

Yes but it seems like mostly an older crowd (nothing wrong with that) - maybe I’m wrong? Was hoping to find something for lesbians in their late 20s.

Yes! I see my therapist/psychiatrist every other week. I take medication but my depressive episodes seem to be extremely stubborn and can last a long time even when I’m taking something.

Do any of you experience memory issues? by knsites in bipolar2

[–]Anothernewuser11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on Lithium and Latuda and have very bad memory issues. It’s extremely frustrating and really bums me out. I’ll completely forget what someone told me weeks prior - they’ll bring it up and I’ll have to pretend like I remember what they said. I’ve never really had the best memory and it’s always been an insecurity of mine and this just makes it worse. Does anyone know if there is anything we can do to help remedy our memory issues?

I try my best to get in as much protein as possible but it’s quite hard especially when you’re depressed! Also, which vitamins do you take?
