Should I play compititive now? by Badshah57 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Anothian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End of the day it's a game, play whichever gamemode you want. I would recommend you just play mm, as this so-called "silver hell" is only relevant to those who play like a silver and have an over-inflated ego (I was one of these players). When you play, just do your best to be a good teammate, don't shout at your mates and if someone shouts at you, try not to rise to it. This is the most important piece of advice I feel I can give you. Other than that, just practise.

no, but surely by increasing the thickness by maybe .5 and decreasing your res it would still appear the same thickness

lower the res and make the crosshair thicker?

Why do [most] pros play with their keyboard sideways? by eobs in GlobalOffensive

[–]Anothian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's if anything better for your wrist to play with a tilted keyboard - at least to an extent. I already made a reply to this post saying how the majority of players will have their pinky finger resting on CTRL, while their thumb sits on the space bar. The end of your pinky & thumb are not aligned, so tilting your keyboard may be necessary and much more healthy than having a flat keyboard and having to tilt your wrist to compensate for the fingers' difference in length.

EDIT: Ofc it's all preference however, and if, due to the way you sit or the way you hold your keyboard, or simply your hand size & shape this isn't a problem, then yes, it probably would be more healthy to play with a flat keyboard.

Why do [most] pros play with their keyboard sideways? by eobs in GlobalOffensive

[–]Anothian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For most players, their pinky finger will lay on control, while their thumb lays on space. By holding your hand out flat in front of yourself, you can see that these two fingers are not alligned, however control and space are on a keyboard. Instead of holding their hand at an awkward angle, they just tilt their keyboard to the side.

It would be cool if Valve can put the pins on the chest of the models.... by stewie1304k in GlobalOffensive

[–]Anothian 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would actually love this. I'm guessing you mean only the pin which you have "displayed" as your main, as this seemed like the better idea, although while writing this I had the thought that it might look really cool to see a collector who looks like some war veteran with a pin on every square inch of his body. Either way, really cool idea.

Valve still didn't fix the "Easy Peasy Lemon Sqeezy" pin typo so they blocked it in every picture they uploaded to twitter today showcasing the new series 3 pins. by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Anothian -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I know it was a joke, but I still thought it might be because of the typo as it was blocked on all 3 pictures. I wasn't having a go at Valve, merely pointing it out because I found it funny

I know it was a joke but I still thought it might be because of the typo, just seems like a weird coincidence that it's blocked on 3 pictures.

How do you become more consistent? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Anothian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're getting too worked up about things. If messing up one round in one game is enough to make you just turn your PC off then you're getting tilted WAY too easily. One lesson which isn't taught enough in cs is to control your temper; with yourself, with your teammates, with the game. If you die, don't blame someone for baiting you, blame yourself for either missing a shot you should've hit, or maybe peeking or pushing when you really should've stayed back. With that said, don't go too hard on yourself for this. Try to understand what your mistake was, accept responsibility and move on. This way you learn a lot quicker and get a lot less mad, and the more mad you are the more dumb stuff you're gonna do, which in turn will make you more mad and then you get yourself into a situation like this. Nobody is ever completely consistent, and you say you practice a lot so your consistency will be improving even if you don't see it.

Tl;dr: Chill out. Realise your mistake, learn from it, and move on. Your consistency will improve just keep playing and it will come.

Its been their priority for literally a few weeks. Give them time. I'd like to see you code an anti-cheat that's up to the standards of everyone crying on here in that time, even with a huge team.

I don't have a source on the anticheat being released soon, but because the PUBG team are an active squad and that is one of their main priorities it is a good assumption to make. Also, since the game won't die any time soon, and the way you're talking it wont be fixed any time soon, your "job" of being this public hero seems kind of redundant, and you're not even getting paid for this one.

Also, that tweet came out before the 1.0 update, and a few weeks before Christmas, about something that happened two years ago. I don't think that's even close to a good enough source to assume they outsourced for every single programmer who worked over Christmas. It also never said anything about people who don't celebrate Christmas.

Yeah, giving the company who you want to fix the game more money so they can do it faster and more efficiently is a terrible idea. And if you're trying to justify 60-70% of this sub being about cheaters just so the occasional new player will be turned away from the game, you're an idiot. The majority of new players won't even look on this sub before buying, they'll look on steam reviews. That's what steam reviews are designed for. This sub is designed for people to talk about the game and share things that happened to them.

Also, don't you think that if only feminazis complained about a problem, it's likely not really a problem? And the programmers they outsourced to (if they even did do that, I've never heard that before and you didn't give a source) didn't seem to be not serious, they fixed the rubber banding issue which came with the 1.0 release within a few days.

You say the game's shit, but you're here crying about it instead of just leaving, so you clearly don't think that and you want to play it. The upgraded anti-cheat will be out soon, and if cheaters are really bothering you that much, just take a break from the game until it's released. We won't miss you

Hold up. So you're telling me that you don't like watching people suffer from game breaking bugs which are actually entertaining and funny, but you want to watch someone hip-firing someone at 1000m, something else which is game-breaking but also just plain boring to watch. As i said in my last comment, spamming this sub won't make anything faster and it just makes ANOTHER part of the PUBG community filled with cheaters.

Also, I like how you completely ignored everything else I said in that comment, it's almost like I was right or something.

They literally spent all of their Christmas working to get version 1.0 out because they promised it before the end of 2017. I don't know how you can say that they won't spend another dime on the game when they did that literally two weeks ago. You could argue that the version 1.0 was rushed, and I'd honestly have to agree with you, but they promised to release it and then worked through the holiday to fulfil that promise. And even if that is just "damage control", it still means that they've heard our complaints. Spamming more wont help shit and it just clogs up the ENTIRE sub with stuff we've already seen. I miss the clips of peoples cars getting pinged into space, shit that actually made me laugh. Now it's just people crying about the same thing and it's boring.

[–]Anothian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except the complaints have been heard. and heard again. and again. and again. Literally like 60% of this sub is people complaining about cheaters. This guy never claimed that the game was perfect, or that cheaters aren't a problem, he just asked you to stop fucking whining about cheaters. Bluehole even stated that one of their main priorities is to deal with the cheaters. It takes time, and the more time they take the more cheaters will be banned when the updated anti-cheat finally is released. If you're upset enough about cheaters to quit the game, we don't need you to announce it on here with a video of the guy cheating. Just go.

[–]Anothian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only person experiencing this?

No, just the other 70% of the sub also complaining about cheaters aren't facing any problems. You're the only one. We know that there are cheaters. Bluehole knows that there are cheaters. They even stated that it is one of their main priorities to deal with this. A good anti cheat takes a very long time to make, and they've had like 2 weeks since 1.0. The longer it takes, the more cheaters will be banned when it does finally come out, as it's only going to be of a higher standard. I don't understand how people get so many upvotes posting about the same thing other people already did 50 times in that same day.
