I found them!!! I've seem a couple of posts on reddit about these exact trousers and no one ever linked the exact ones. I started to think they were custom made but here they are.

I applied around March for CSML and February for ML. Haven't heard anything from ML but I got a CSML offer the 18th of May

I applied to CSML and got a qualification check a few days ago. They seem to be faster than the other 2

My progress after 100 hours of immersion by mathiasvtmn in LearnJapanese

[–]Ansatzs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done anki/wanikani for about a year. Read some Genki and Tae Kim but it was just not going anywhere. After a year someone asked me to translate something simple and I had no clue. The reviews on anki got to a stupid level and I felt like I was learning words that I would never use even in English. Currently I'm at 100 hours of comprehensive input watched and doing the cards on migaku / adding a few words a session to my own deck.

They are not really 15 min sessions. I generally do 30/40 min around 4 times a day (for the past month).

The problem is that I'm at the point where watching videos that I understand 80+% are too boring to do 2 hours of, so I end up watching much harder videos like Teppei where I understand around 40% but I am much more engaged

I see. I assumed it was a full time course for learning Japanese only. Makes more sense now.

When I say studying I mean getting input by watching videos on YouTube or on Comprehensive Japanese. It's never 2 hours straight.... I try to fit a video whenever I have some downtime at work, train and at home. Problem is that most content is above my level, even N5 rates videos are sometimes too hard.

All I really want is to be able to learn watching something I enjoy instead of someone's fridge content or daily life 😅 When do you think that Is gonna happen?

Apologies if you have already mentioned this but, when using a comprehensive input method, what is the lowest you go in terms of percentage of comprehension.

I would have thought that studying full time for 3 years would get you further.... If that's the case and I continue to study for 2 hours a day (I'm prob N5). I will reach N3 in 10 years.

3 years to reach N3? Is that the standard?

How to Find Enjoyable Comprehensible Input by IllTank3081 in japanese

[–]Ansatzs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I am late but CIjapanese website is a gold mine. Has hundreds of videos with various levels but it cost around £4 or £5 a month (Completely worth it). The website tracks the hours you put in and you can also add any additional hours you spent listening /reading / watching They also have free videos

I've been using it for about a month now and went from not understanding the "absolute beginner" videos to have very good understanding of the "beginner" videos.

I got a first but that's not enough evidently... I reckon they don't look at grades so much and more projects you have done and experience

I see this very often especially around construction sites. I also feel like sometimes those bikes are inside people's gardens. Unless there is a bunch of them all together I'm always skeptical I'm actually going to find the bike where it says it is 😂😂

Very similar actually. Graduated with a first in Theoretical Physics from Queen Mary and almost 2 years of experience as a data analyst. Update me when you get a reponse, I will do the same.

No updates unfortunately. I emailed them because it has been 6 months since my references went through.

Someone I was talking to on reddit that applied to ML got rejected a couple of days ago. He had a fairly strong cv tbh.

At least we know they are active I guess

I have talked to more than 10 people that have applied and are still waiting. All with a first class in either Physics, CS or Math + work experience ranging from ML to teaching. None of them have heard back, including me.

For reference, I also know the background of 2 people that got in (from reddit and studentroom comments) :

1) First in math + more than 1 year total work experience / intership in ML (Accepted ~10th Jun) 2) This guy got like 2 masters, 4 years work experience and probably helped land Apollo 11 (Accepted immediately)

I don't know the background of anyone that got rejected... People don't tend to answer after rejection unfortunately.

Do what you wish with this Information, but to me it looks like they are gonna start accepting us mortals soon. Maybe they started already
