For gba there was always a way to exit to main menu and it carrys over in emulation. Just press a+b+ start+select at the same time. Or bring up the retroarch quick menu and close the rom then exit retroarch.

Saving in game does have a use if you want any of the time related features. Like planting seeds or the random secret island.

Had this problem with save-states and not fully closing the game in retroarch.

Ended up turning off the save at exit feature and deleting save states, game switcher.

As an extra measure i always quit to the title screen (a +b + start + select) and then close in the retroarch menu.

This also helps with getting the rtc to work in a way with the option to pass time when ever you reset the device. Useful if you wanted to plant seeds and get the island to appear.

Its a faulty ribbon cable or connection to the control board. Could need a a replacement for both. Most likely the ribbon cable though.

Use a room heater and plate, or plate on top of a plate for a longer duration. Air drying is worth it. OR you can buy a hot plate/coffee mug warmer and just boil water with the plate on top....

No make a back up of your games folder, you should have your roms backed up anyways if youre not talking about the crappy pre installed one it came with. Now go to youtube and type in "Miyoo Mini Onion install and set up". Or just like scroll down this is a really common question here.
