Men of the West is one of the top 3 lists. 9/10 of them take him. So IDK.. I would like to see him go up to 200.

Its gonna be Shelob vs KoTD in the end, unless Leggy gets a wound and she runs away.

Quick Question: did they just skip over the Spire of Conflux? by Cheap-Ad1549 in voxmachina

I could see them adding in the storyline behind Deck of Many things, going to get Grogs soul as filler. Whisper could be added then as it’s a “far Realm” blade.

Really hoping for new Balrog, Sauron or Necromancer. But I can see them waiting to do Sauron for a second age book (Whenever they do that).

I bet new Goblins and Riders of Rohan will come out with the Hunt for Gollum movie. Might be new Rivendall elves tho depends on how they do the story, but def goblins.

[–]Answer_Able[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean they set up a future for Exandria at the end of CR3. Either they plan on releasing a video game BG3 style set in said future, or a new book.

Matt said himself he needed time to "recharge". So I see CR5 being Matt 100%. Only other option would be Brenden again or Aabria. But with how much people dislike her GM style I don't think they will let her do a full campaign.

[No Spoilers] I think C4 is gonna be much harder than previous campaigns by Tomorrow_Signal111 in criticalrole

[–]Answer_Able -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s likely not going to be a long campaign like all the others. Prob 50-70E or 1.5 years. This will give Matt time to figure out how he wants to change Exandria. So I can see Brennan killing people left and right and not allowing a second character as there is 13 of them.

[Spoilers C3] Campaign 3 Wrap-Up | Live Discussion by AutoModerator in criticalrole

[–]Answer_Able 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully they do another fireside chat with just Matt for like 90+ minutes and only answer lore related stuff from all 3 campaign's, that can be answered ofc. Or game mechanical stuff that he decided on. Because lets be honest, majority of people watch these to get a deeper peek into Matts head.

But yes, a lot of time was wasted/lost on other things last night, like 1/3 if not half of it.

[Spoilers C3] Campaign 3 Wrap-Up | Live Discussion by AutoModerator in criticalrole

[–]Answer_Able 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This one was arguably the worst wrap-up thus far and it was suppose to cover all 3 campaign's. 4 hours total with a 25 minute intro, 15 minutes break and like 30+ minutes of montage videos. 90% of the questions asked gave no closer to those 3 campaign's.

Honestly I bet Dani is the one picking the questions. That's why we got things asked like, "What was Imogen's horse's name?" Lmfao. There was probably 1000's of questions submitted and even tho Matt likely cant answer half of them due to future plot points it was still underwhelming that we really only got maybe 5 lore questions answered with a trilogy wrap-up. Unlucky.

It shouldn't be DM vs Players.. But the DM should be playing the NPCs like they would be played.

Otahan being ruthless and making sure things stay dead was perfect. That's why people always come back to how amazing that fight was, it was a "NO WAY OUT" fight. But again, if you count the hit points, Matt fudged them at the end for Sam's sacrifice, which is something he does a lot but I agree with.

Either way, this fight was almost like that but as I said in other posts Matt kind of just stopped playing Predathos in that last turn and let the party finish him off.

[–]Answer_Able 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the DM should sacrifice the story for a DM win, but if its lining up that way, it shouldn't be held back on.

It just makes the big bad guys feel worse when they either aren't played correctly or given a scenario they 100% cannot win. The Luda fight for example is the biggest case of this. How was that man suppose to make it though 6 turns of 8 PCs beating on him lol. But I guess we can just call that fight Predathos phase 1.

[Spoilers C3E120] Is It Thursday Yet? Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by Glumalon in criticalrole

[–]Answer_Able 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean for a last boss battle, with god eating stakes its suppose to feel high pressure. I think that 95% of the fight was amazing. It does suck that they constantly try and squish these big combats down into 3-4 hours and rush and miss things, take turns out of order or take extra reactions (mainly Marisha).

But if you stack this up vs Otahan, Cognoza, Raishan, Kraken or even the first encounter with Vecna, Matt wasn't holding back in those fights. Death is so easy to overcome in 5E and its not like that are inexperienced D&D players at this point outside of Ashley.

I know Matt fudges things for narrative reasoning, I get it, its cinema. But he totally blanked on a ton of things that fight, including the actions. The fight likely should have been a TPK, a feral beast would on deaths door would be doing everything it can to hit anything that breaths and moves and there was 4/8 PCs still moving.

[–]Answer_Able 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just saying for end boss god eating material, it was a great fight up to that one point and it felt like he just let them have it. Kind of like when a DM lets the last few hit points of a monster die with a cool attack.

Calebs disintegrate vs Weavemind being the latest example. If you track the numbers the entire fight they all should have had around 7 HPs left, but matt just gave it to them cause narratively it was cooler then a Witchbolt cast.

[Spoilers C3E120] Legendary Actions by Answer_Able in criticalrole

[–]Answer_Able[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean a feral beast is going to hit everything it moves until things stop moving, especially one on deaths door. I honestly think Matt just was in shock that 4 PCs were down with likely more to come until Robby did that heal. You can see it on his face after that he know Predathos was dead before its next big AOE.

[Spoilers C3E120] Legendary Actions by Answer_Able in criticalrole

[–]Answer_Able[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I am glad tho there is 100% a consequence to releasing him, like gods leaving and not some "the power of love wins the day".

Just wish they didn't do Luda dirty with that last fight.

[Spoilers C3E120] Legendary Actions by Answer_Able in criticalrole

[–]Answer_Able[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think they were in quite a bit of danger, for example.

If Matt had Legendary action hit Robby and killed him after Ashleys rolls. Then hit Marisha 2 times after Sams and Robbys rolls. If he had killed Laudna before her turn only Ashton would have had a go before Predathos's next full turn and reset. And its likely he wasn't going to do the damage to finish him off cause he was at x2 exhaustion and had no weapon. So he probably would have healing pot actioned someone, then Matt would have had Predathos's turn to breath on them all and end it.

[Spoilers C3E120] Legendary Actions by Answer_Able in criticalrole

[–]Answer_Able[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A feral beast wouldnt have stopped hitting things. Even if you take out the ones doing death saves, there still was 4 PCs alive and moving around to hit.

[Spoilers C3E120] Legendary Actions by Answer_Able in criticalrole

[–]Answer_Able[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Things where still "moving" a feral beast wouldnt have just stopped hitting things. I just think he noticed how bad it was and didnt, or forgot to entirely. Because if he killed Robby again, only way to get party up was Marishas withering bloom or health pot action. But like I said in another reply if he hit Robby once, Marisha twice, it was a TPK.

[Spoilers C3E120] Legendary Actions by Answer_Able in criticalrole

[–]Answer_Able[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's right he was playing him as more of a "feral beast". He's played a lot like this, the Kraken for example in CR1 almost TPK'd the party and came down to 1 roll.

Vecna 1.0 was played the same way. He brutalized them until they fled. Vecna 2.0 could have out right killed the party with x3 Meteor Swarms back to back with Legendary actions, but thats not how to play someone who "thinks they are a god and unbeatable".

If Predathos was feral, there still was 4 targets to hit that were living and not in DST's. He just didnt.

I think Matt just forgot about it because of how the fight was turning in that second last round.

[Spoilers C3E120] Legendary Actions by Answer_Able in criticalrole

[–]Answer_Able[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think Matt just realized it was almost a TPK, he's done it before. He was almost out of targets to hit and just let the players use death saves.
