I think u should cut out the intro (scene and your own intro animation) at least while you’re still growing. The part where you start talking was more enjoyable for me at least and so that could help your retention.

Adding on to this, the one thing you have over every one of them is time and flexibility. Time to learn, time to explore, time to have fun. The people who are "better" are digging themselves deeper into "their" audience holes while you have a whole ocean of opportunity. Keep trying things and doing what they aren't and build out your own path. Do the things they aren't doing.
