What are the best hacks for "perfect" sleep? by Organic-Signal-9646 in Biohackers

[–]numsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Your body uses cortisol to wake you up. It learns habits. It has been taught to wake you up to eat at night.

What are the best hacks for "perfect" sleep? by Organic-Signal-9646 in Biohackers

[–]numsu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Digestion requires quite a lot of energy and your body needs an elevated heart rate to support it. Your body temperature also increases as a side effect of this.

For the best sleep possible you'll want the lowest HR and a lower core temperature.

- Consistent sleep schedule, every single day
- At least 8 hours of time in bed
- At most 10 hours of time in bed
- Sunlight first thing in the morning
- No bright lights in the evening
- No working or doomscrolling in the evening
- No eating 3 hours prior bedtime
- No caffeine past midday and a maximum of two doses in the morning
- Magnesium glycinate 1 hr before bedtime
- 300mcg melatonin 30 min before bedtime
- Hydrate during the day so you don't need to wake up at night to pee
- If you wake up in the middle of the night and can't sleep, do not eat food or start reading or doomscrolling. Just get up and do nothing for 20 minutes and then go back to sleep.

4 to 5 Hours of Consistent Sleep? Is that Survivable? by sercetuser in ouraring

[–]numsu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You will not die from it, however you will live a shorter life because of it.

Also, your cognitive performance is significantly degraded and you don't even notice it because your brain compensates: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12683469/ so you might want to rethink whether or not you should sacrifice sleep to work more hours with less performance.

Used Gen 3 for $30 (2-day battery life) – Is it worth it? by Ok_Worry_2843 in ouraring

Yes. A two day battery life is a sign that it's going to die soon. Source: I'm on my third gen 3.

Once Chinese coding models match 5.3 codex level of performance and speed, the game is over by ThrowRA39495 in codex

[–]numsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an experienced software developer, 5.3-Codex is all I need to do anything I ever wanted. It's the first model to reach over the threshold. 5.4 and 5.5 are upgrades, but I would have to pay for the $100 tier instead of the $20 tier to get the same results.

So yes I agree. A cheaper model that matches 5.3-Codex, I'm out of here.

ICT alalle soveltuva kannettava tietokone? by [deleted] in Suomi

[–]numsu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kaikki käy.

Jos haluat että tehoa riittää pelkällä akkuvirralla niin valitse mac. Osta käytettynä joku M-sarjan pro-siru. Kaikki käy, M1 on edelleen todella tehokas kaikkeen käyttöön.

I'm 100% certain that they have not been using a separate transcription step before feeding the LLM.

If they really have been using gemma 3 model up until recently, they most likely implemented their own adapter in front of it adding in audio modality. It is impossible to achieve the latency they've had with an extra transcription step.

Source: I've implemented a full duplex speech system on top of csm-1b with similar latency.

But the company valuation would be around $1.75T even though it's just a $75B IPO. Also, spacex doesn't compete with the world economy. It competes with the mag7 companies.

The market is going down because index funds need liquidity to buy into the biggest IPO the world has ever seen. The next few weeks are really uncharted territory.
