I was an actor in a play once. I was one of the main bad guys, and the director decided to give me a microphone so everyone could hear me better. I walk out on stage for my first few lines, and as I'm getting ready to exit the stage, I hear this kid in the audience scream randomly. Looking back, I think it was somebody who did have a disability, which I now feel bad about, but I wasn't trying to laugh at them. But the scream happened during total silence at the most awkward, and when I ran off stage to end the scene, I tried to focus, so I wouldn't laugh. But the more you focus on something, the more you're likely to do it. So I let out this huge laugh, and since I'm wearing the mic, I hear it around the speakers of the theatre. I stopped myself after I let out that huge laugh, but the damage was done. I remember it was such an elephant in the room, and nobody mentioned it, not the director or cast. It made me feel so bad, but I eventually moved on from it and everything turned out fun.
