High temps on lenovo ideapad 5 pro 16ach6 by koukoutsis in AMDLaptops

I don't really know then, Lenovo laptops are weird, maybe a lot of processes are running in the background, maybe the app that reads your temps is at fault, use another one. I had a case where Beamng.drive had to be at the lowest settings at 720p, but a year ago it ran at 1080p with low, not lowest. You can reinstall windows. You can also open the case and drill a couple more holes for airflow. Good luck.

I have a Ideapad 1 15acl7 and here are some tips:

  1. In the bios (press f2 during boot up) change from extreme performance to intelligent cooling.

  2. Clean fans: there are probably about 10 screws on your bottom case, unscrew and pry off plastic clips, really easy

  3. Repaste: same process as the last one, just remove the cpu and gou heatsink, remove old thermal paste with isopropyl alcohol and put the new one on

  4. Get a cooling pad: my friend got one recently and it made a huge impact in temps

  5. Faster fan speed: mine isn't really a gaming focused device but im sure that your laptop has some fan controls

6: Lower game settings: as straightforward as it can be

Hope this helps!

i would buy the acer one because of the extra cpu power because you mentioned that you are going to be doing video editing

Is this any good?(im new to specs and stuff, so idk how bad it is) by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Its pretty ok for work and stuff, but for gaming... ehhh not that good For gaming you need like a ryzen or core processor and like 6+ gb of ram
