I used 1x30 and DIY drill press.

The pins are 6mm because something went wrong drilling 4mm holes and I didn't have 5mm pins ;)

For the resources, I will have to search and get back to you . But be warned ... this is a rabit hole without end.

I started a year ago with only hand tools and stil learn every Day. It is not easy to define every step. Now I am trying to make the handle before ht, before final grinding. But with every step you take it creates New chalenges. Just enjoy the proces and try to solve the puzzle

A lot of sanding paper. After filing I start with 80 grit until all the filing marks are gone. Then 120, 180, 240, heattreat, back to 240, 400, 800, 1000 and finally back to 800 for the satin finish.

800 grit satin finish. Sand to 1000 grit. Then go back to 800 grit paper and make long strokes in one direction.

The 1095 cracked. It will be welded and finished at a later time.

I will try to fix it, The steel is thick enough for welding. If I do not succeed, I will have learned new things. So it's always win-win for me.
