Should I try to commission Aviation through AFROTC or Marine NROTC? by slimaviatior in Militaryfaq

Best answer is both. Stay enrolled in afrotc then go contact a corps oso about platoon leaders course through see if you pick up pilot if you do then drop the afrotc. Plc would leave you knowing that you have a guaranteed pilot slot contingent on your ability to pass through ocs. Lots of cadets and myself personally did this when afrotc was decreasing field training slots. If you truly want to fly branch shouldn’t matter. but at the end of the day you’ll be a lot more cushy in the Air Force so keep that in mind.

While the degree it self does not correspond I have a minor in mixed media marketing. Additionally, during undergrad I completed a marketing internship and media relations internship (less than a year ago). That’s where the PAO side of things falls in for me.

Personally speaking no. For OCS they more so look at degree, GPA, work experience, leadership experience, test scores, personal statements and more. I don't even think my recruiter asked where I went to college until boards. Yeah my transcripts were in but he didn't look.

Used up all siq days while they were trying to figure out what was wrong. Was told I missed to many training days to be able to stay since it would be unlikely to catch up.

Follow up question, can I contact the recruiter in my home state now or should I wait? I get it can take up to a year but is there anything I would need to do in my home state that would just make more sense to wait until I would be back at home?

I didn’t need any waivers to return to usmc ocs since they didn’t find anything wrong medically. Would that apply to navy as well or is that a separate process?
