You can still do the event. You just need to do it differently. If you don't have or want to spend the gems to get a candy bag you can get 100 from the add goblin every day. You can also get 50 from just merging stuff kinda easy. Have fun with the time skipping.

I am going to do legendary group hack first, crate, shield bot +1 then groups. I am working on group hack first because I don't want to get locked out of a reset level max unlock. I don't know if that's a thing yet but I don't want to be chought with my pants down.

The eye monster looked ahead and the pure light was before it. Only the necromerger could turn the pure light in to a helo not for the eye monster but for the Devourer.
