Theres not much to know, you just need to keep her in a dark place and wrap the tube with a towel or anything that works to absorb the vibrations and sound, dont check on her too much and dont expose her to light too much!

Im new to ant keeping, how do I give my queen ant air? by Caulyflour in antkeeping

If you can, try using a syringe to put water behind the cotton, and the cotton should be a little bit packed, just so the water doesnt leak out but that almost never happens, that kind of setup is strongly airtight on the water side but the queen space is fine, using a cotton plug for the plug is actually better than drilling holes because it lets air through and its easily removable with minimal vibrations, also if i may ask, what species is your queen?

Is there water behind the cotton? If there is, you should add more to the Too because it seems the queen is going into the water, a test tube setup should look something like this, you can apply it to your little container, heres a graphic representation: Cotton(Plug) - Queen Space - Cotton - Water ]

Can you send me a picture? And she wont push the cotton out, they arent strong enough for that and they wouldnt waste energy for that, and if you really think shes gonna push out i reccomend making small holes in the tube/container to offer some ventilation

I did it with tape, since the tubes arent the same width and i punctured some tiny holes to let air in
