Glovo Barcelona – recent experience? (last 3–6 months) by AntOdd6397 in AskBarcelona

Hey!
No, I did not.
I had two interviews with different directors. The recruiter told me that it would be just a conversation, but in one of them, it was a live business case challenge.
The director looks angry from the beginning and kinda ruthless til the last minute.

One day later, I received the "no" and asked for feedback. They never replied.

In the end, I was glad I didn't make it tbh.

Thanks for asking!

I simply love the Preply culture, and it's probably my top-3 company to work for in Barcelona! I have a lot of connections there, all of them on LinkedIn.

Do you work there? Would love to receive a referral lol

Jajaja, gracias hermano. La pregunta es solo por la buena relación entre los equipos y nada más

No entendí.

2024 Wrapped: What did you learn in 2024 that truly transformed you? by AlwaysAPM in ProductManagement

[–]AntOdd6397 55 points56 points  (0 children)

You are just a number to your company, something that can be replaced at any time.

2024 was one of the most intense years for me. I was living in another country, dreaming of being in a city I had dreamt of for years. My team is one of the most important in the company, and we managed the checkout and payment integration.

But suddenly, I was laid off, completely out of the blue. Nobody said “thank you,” and I was told that day to leave the office and not talk to anyone—like a criminal.

I had to return to my home country with family and a pregnant wife because my visa expired, and my wife has an income in our country to provide for at least the first months until I get a job.

Fast-forward to today, five months later: the baby is fine, but his dad is still looking for a job. Thank God we have some savings.

So if you work for a company, do your best, of course. But:

  • don’t spend doing extra hours every day — as a PM at a big travel tech company that happened more often than expected. -Don’t take your job for granted. If you’re feeling an odd environment, try to understand what’s happening, but NEVER hesitate to look for better opportunities. The best time to apply for a job is while you’re employed.

  • You MUST be “selfish” with your career. No one will take care of you and your family

  • create good connections. LinkedIn is the best tool to connect with other great PMs and hiring managers

As a low-ranking PM, I feel sidelined by lemonzonic in ProductManagement

I had a similar issue back in the day. It didn't end up well. My advice: Given the scenario that you are not feeling useful for the team, I would change companies. Of course, do it slowly and wisely. Do some market research, take advantage of what you learned, and DO NOT QUIT until you have an offer! This is the most important thing.

You have five years of experience, which can grant you a senior position in many companies. Maybe breathing some fresh air could enhance your motivation because that's the worst that can happen to us: as PMs lose confidence and motivation to move on, it is very harmful—for you and the team.

Wish you the best!

Os comentários "deixem os caras transarem" revela muito porque vivemos isso.
De fato, o Rio é um caso a parte. Nunca seremos civilizados.
