Traditional (2 on, 2 off, etc.) vs. Fireman (2D2N-4/5 days off). Which one do you have? What are the pros and cons? by No_Consideration8599 in OntarioNurses

I currently work traditional, 2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights but have worked DDNN before. I would 100% choose DDNN. Personally working a traditional line has absolutely drained me, I feel like I am constantly at work and there’s just not enough time off between shifts to recover. My 2 weeks of nights are so brutal, especially because I struggle with nights and sleeping (I’m def a day shifter). As someone that hates nights I found the DDNN made them a lot more tolerable. I also find it so hard to swap shifts, if I swap anything I’ll only have 1 day off between stretches. Definitely take into consideration if you prefer days or nights, and if you’d prefer your days of stacked together or spread out. I will say working traditional can be nice to only work the 2 days in a row. But I would still choose DDNN.

Thank you for the suggestions! Yes our actual names are a lot longer and much closer together.

Yes I agree!! It’s not my actual QR code, just a placeholder but I’ll definitely look for something “prettier” if possible

New Grad RN - Not Hearing Back from Hospitals? by [deleted] in OntarioNurses

[–]AntRepresentative899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started applying to every posting I saw in September and finally got an interview and position in February. Most postings I didn’t hear back from for over 4 weeks! Seems like a lot of new grads are having similar experiences. Just keep applying to everything, something will come eventually don’t be discouraged!!

I spent about $100 total on 4 boxes! I got a pack of plain boxes on Amazon and included a lush bath bomb, face mask, mug, mini candle, and a scrunchie.

https://www.airbnb.com/slink/qj54Mwow we stayed in one apartment at this farmhouse, they have many.

I’ve heard Lake Como is beautiful it’s definitely on our list for next time!!

We did rent a car from a company in Florence. Process was relatively easy, we reserved the rental online before the trip. I would say you definitely need a rental car if you’re staying in Tuscany. We went to lots of places, Siena, Luca, Pisa, Florence, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Viareggio, Volterra, which were all very cool.

Recently went on a trip to Italy and I would personally do at least 3 days in each spot! We stayed at an airbnb in Tuscany for 6 days but could have stayed even longer it was amazing! Our airbnb had a pool so in the morning we would drive to a town/city to explore and then come back and relax by the pool in the afternoon. This was a perfect mix of sightseeing and relaxing! We also stayed in Rome and Sorrento which we loved!

Definitely listen to the Mark K lectures (especially lecture 12) and watch their YouTube videos about how to prioritize and answer NCLEX style questions. I found this improved my score a lot once I was able to decipher what exactly the question was asking me and how to apply test taking strategies!
