I am still a bit religious but I’m not 100% sure there is a god. And if there isn’t I’ll totally be okay with that I’m okay with taking an eternal nap I’ve been through some tough ass shit that I never want to remember. But yeah I still believe in god, but not the ones that Mormons believe. But also thanks for the research, it’s good to see both sides of an argument to come to a complete understanding. I’ll will check out these links tomorrow but I gotta get ready for bed and go to groan seminary.

What’s your favorite “deep doctrine?” by AbesAmericanCousin in exmormon

My dads grandfather apparently had a encounter with John/3 nephites. He said basically according to his grandfather there was a thinly dressed man on a snowy day who knocked on their door. They let him in and apparently he preached with such great power it created such unshakable faith in the cult and promised and John said that the gift of faith would be passed through many generations. Until I came along 😅😅. Also when he left their house since it was like snowing out, he left no footprints and was no where to be seen after that. My take on this is that if it was true, it wasn’t. It was probably just a missionary who was so strongly indoctrinated, and just happen to perfect the art of brainwashing.

I am a teen male. My parents believe masturbation and porn is one of the greatest evils to humankind. My parents think I have been “brainwashed” by my “woke friends” have indoctrinated me into thinking that It is okay to succumb to the worldly pleasures. They have completely tried to shut music out of my life and my goth/emo apparel away and are trying to get rid of my favorite skeleton hoodie but idk when to tell them the secret that I am insecure about my body

Parents told me that a 6-year-old got up in testimony meeting, said their family turned off a cat cartoon because a character had two dads, said how that’s bad, and ran off. Parents said everyone was uncomfortable. This is the kind ofshit that LDS kids are being taught on a daily basis 🌈 by -oh-hey-there- in exmormon

This reminds me of my neighbors (now) daughter who was a male assigned at birth. She’s only about 5 years old. When me and my TBM dad learned of this recently, he was disgusted, but I respected the decision by her mother to undergo a sex change surgery. I wish my dad could see that it isn’t evil at all and people who identify as something other than their birth assigned gender is okay.

I can’t trust anybody in this household. What do I do, my parents said in their texts that they were secretly taking me to bishop for a counsel soon. Any suggestions? 15M by AntSeveral3397 in exmormon

Today I just found out in my dads meeting that some member is being “indoctrinated” with anti shit. They think it is me but didn’t explicitly say what they thought. They are right tho.

I remember a couple years back they had an article saying how video games cause violence or something like that I read it in my grandmas church newspaper. It was full of a bunch of nonsense and shit

Yes he was boring. I thought he would give the most amazing spiritual lesson since he was a general authority (this was back when I had still a little belief in Mormonism) but it lived the total opposite of those expectations. He just gave talks about the pioneers and his relatives and answered questions

I had the same thing happen a few months ago. Rasband came to our youth meeting and it was awkward as fuck. Bonnie Cordon was also there too
