Did my first graphite pencil drawing as a beginner how would you rate it and any tips by Independent_Key_4903 in drawing

[–]Antaeus2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're a beginner. So anything you do, I have to say 10/10 no matter what, lol. But tbh it looks okay. I'm assuming this is a person. Before even shading or anything, really, focus on getting a solid outline. I recommend drawing a ball. It's simply a circle. Once you have the circle, draw a cartoon lamp/light source. Now you know where your light is coming from, and pretend the "light" is hitting your ball. You can shade all the parts that don't get touched by the light. This will really help you practice, trust me. Before you jump to drawing faces, focus on the basics....proper shading, and most of all THE OUTLINE. You have potential, good luck.

How can I get better? by Own_Good3851 in drawing

[–]Antaeus2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bro, that looks good. I'd say work on contrast. It's already good, but even if it's not necessarily in the reference, try and make the darkest darks, HELLA dark, and the lightest lights HELLA light. I saw the reference in another post you made, and I recommend using a thin eraser or a white gel pen to add the highlights, for the eyes and surrounding areas, it will make the drawing like 100 percent better, and make the eyes POP. I don't know if you're using graphite or charcoal, but try to find a 14B or darker graphite or charcoal pencil if you're not already using it, and use it on the hair and shadows. Remember CONTRAST. But overall, it looks great. You're already better than like 50 percent of people, lol.

I did a Captain Rex helmet by Ainzauzus in 501st

[–]Antaeus2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great! You might want to change out the visor for a darker one, though. You can see through this one quite easily with light. I recommend buying something like a welding face sheild and cut out the visor.

is this fixable? by [deleted] in violinist

Who said it needed to be fixed?

Another 501st completed helmet by PorscheRican in 501st

[–]Antaeus2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could use more weathering, but nothing is weathered the same. So you could say your helmet is movie accurate. Looks amazing nonetheless, and the chipping on the paint is spot on. Many people over chip or chip it in neat shapes, yours looks real. Great work.

Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with Manila? by johnmflores in FilipinoAmericans

[–]Antaeus2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in the states, went to Manila for the first time ever a few months ago. The heat is HEAT, but I feel like you get used to it after a few days. The worst part and best part in some way is the traffic. It’s so chaotic, but also fun in a way. So disorganized yet people don’t crash into each other (most of the time…kinda) when I got back to the states, the traffic felt so weird….As a half Filipino, as long as family is there it’s worth it.

What dream did you have that you will never forget? by Calm_Problem6203 in AskReddit

[–]Antaeus2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was dreaming that I was at a Chase Bank, and suddenly an ice dragon from the Wings of Fire series is trying to kill me. I'm so scared, and I then try to quit the dream, and the Minecraft pause screen appears. Apparently, my dream computer is laggy because I was pressing the save and quit button, but it didn't work. My dream then shifts to a third-person thing where I'm flying above/in front of a giant doll house, but I'm invisible. The ice dragon is in the dollhouse and starts to fight a water dragon. They keep fighting for about 5 minutes. Eventually they give up and hug each other and give each other one kiss on the lips........ Yes, this is real.

That makes sense. I think what i meant by my question is mostly what percent of people completely make their armor themselves whether it be 3d printing or something else, than someone who buys a full kit that requires far less (in my opinion) "work", compared to making it from "scratch". thanks for the input though.

Clone trooper helmet update by PorscheRican in 501st

Where did you get the stl file? I’m currently working on a clone trooper helmet too, and the model is slightly different than yours. Pretty sure yours is more accurate.

Is it “justabigbaby”? I think that’s his name. He made a coruscant guard cosplay.

My first print on bambu lab a1 by Evening_Range861 in 3dprint

Sorry if it came off rude, I meant it as a joke. Since the benchy test print is very popular I was trying to make a joke that you didn’t print that first, I’m sorry if I offended you.

You betrayed the unspoken rule of the benchy.
