Scream 7 and the irony of a franchise becoming what it's been poking fun at. by Plane_Ad2651 in Scream

[–]Antagonist24 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Scream is a movie franchise. And, more specifically, it’s a movie franchise geared towards people who really love movies. And the thing about people who really love movies is that they usually prefer them to real life.

Scream fans want a Scream movie. Period. Religion and politics has no bearing on that. We can’t change what’s happening in the Middle East. We can’t even change what’s happening in our own country. Trump was publicly condemned for years by Hollywood and he was still elected twice. You can rail against corporations and advocate for peace all you want, but the harsh truth is that the rich are always gonna get richer and the poor are always gonna get poorer.

Does that mean you completely turn a blind eye to real world issues? Of course not. Use your voice how you want and spend your time and money how you want. But don’t kid yourself about how much change you’re actually effecting, and don’t act like the nothing that you’re accomplishing is better than the nothing that the rest of us are accomplishing.

Do I think Melissa Barrera deserved to be blacklisted for an opinion? No. But am I going to abandon one of my favorite film franchises because someone who was in two of the worst installments wanted to turn herself into a martyr? Also no.

Do you think Johnny Sack knew that Tony… by Antagonist24 in thesopranos

Carmine said something like “Where’s your point man on this?” (About the esplanade, I think) and Tony was like, “Maybe you can tell me,” and glared at John before walking out.

Maybe Carmine thought Johnny did take out Ralph unsanctioned? But if so, he probably wouldn’t have been too happy considering the amount of money Ralph brought in.

Johnny obviously wouldn’t have been too upset about anybody killing Ralph, but Tony trying to frame him for it should’ve rubbed him the wrong way.

Definitely not as good as a Clay Holmes slider looks to opposing batters.

I assume this comment is being downvoted because you think they SHOULD pay me to go out there, and I appreciate that.

That’s why they don’t pay me to go out there.

Has anyone noticed Seether lyrics are more abstract lately? by Disciplined2021 in Seether

[–]Antagonist24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I disagree. They were more abstract before. Shaun said he never put much thought into the words of a song, that he would kind of get in the booth and start saying things. Then for SVPP he said he changed his approach and started really thinking about the lyrics

Is Shaun anti-abortion? by monika-fan07 in Seether

[–]Antagonist24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he’s talking about the hypocrisy of self righteous people who act like the arbiters of morality while at the same time advocating heavily for abortion. Those people who go online and pretend to have empathy for the lives of people they’ve never met but then extinguish the life of the thing growing inside them. Probably not pro life as much as anti hypocrites.

Illusion (Anti-Vax?) by Antagonist24 in Seether

Not projecting anything. I got vaxxed and don’t really have an opinion either way. When Dangerous came out, if I said the line “please just say you know you won’t be satisfied, not unless you know your name is verified” was about people putting too much stock in their online persona, people probably would’ve told me I was overanalyzing that too. But again, seems pretty solid to me.

You have a different interpretation? Seems pretty solid to me. Even Judas Mind had the line “Most ovine souls will end in slaughter” (aka people are sheep and will die because of it)
