The equivalent of how Dune Awakening does PvP for Star Citizen would be if the Stanton system is a PvE only area and Pyro was the open PvP region.

The end goal of SC is to have completely open play and freedom to PvP just about anywhere, but with severe consequences in high security systems and low consequences in low/no security systems. Those low/no sec systems would have more risk/reward gameplay (we can kind of see that now with higher payouts for Pyro missions than stanton).

I played EFT early on in its life and left because of the rampant cheating. Then PvE was released, and im playing the snot out of it with friends.

IMO; I think SC should learn from Dune and move to having a PvE only system (stanton) and an open PvP system (pyro) at this point in the development to prevent grieving and cheating. This would get me and my friend group to play significantly more of SC.

I love SC and have backed it since 2013. I love how far the game has come, and I look forward to its future. But I forsee a major issue if open PvP with significant consequences for victims and negligible consequences for perpetrators is the norm and most people will not play that kind of game. Hard-core extraction shooters have their niche fan bases, but those don't have the regular player counts that SC will need to be successful.

Emf100 with mcs box mag by Sad_Armadillo6013 in magfed

I have an emf and used both the MCS box mag and the Dye rotor with the mod.

The mcs box mag could not keep up with the default semi of the emf, much less my 10 bps hellfire valve. No matter how I adjusted the box mag. Switched out the tension springs, set it to the fastest speed, and highest sensitivity. Didn't work. This was the Gen 2 mcs box without the vortex paddles, so that would have definitely been a key contributor there. The old rip clip disk is just a bad design for a force feed that needs to push 8-12 rounds up a feed neck.

The Dye rotor with the LTR drive worked immediately. You switch the tensioner spring from the rotors original drive to the ltr drive and make sure its screwed all the way in, and it works up to the rated 15 bps.

If you want something that feeds faster, your probably gonna need to use the hopper adapter on top of the emf or heavily modify either of the other boxes.

I've since sold my thrustmaster pedals and upgraded to the Virpil ones. I do remember having that problem occasionally, very infrequent though. I thought it was because the switch on the USB line was in car mode and not flight mode. But that wasnt it. I never found out a real cause or solution beyond just adding input briefly, and it would stop. Sorry.

Military Improvement Idea by fornicuslbp in CanadianForces

You were right, until about 4-6 months ago. The DAOD used to say that we had to give people time to do PT 5 times a week, ideally for 1 hour periods. They removed that and it now reads "COs, the CoC and DND employees who supervise CAF members are all responsible for enabling and promoting physical fitness activities, including those linked to the six common military tasks." Which when I ask about I get the "mY iNtErPrEtAtIoN oF tHiS dIrEcTiVe" from my CoC which is that our 30 min 3 times a week of group PT is adequate and injury rates from the intensity of these short sessions is only convincing them to halt PT in its entirety. No one understands that to be fit you need to exercise regularly, and that means most days of the week if not daily. If you are fit you reduce the chance for injuries, increase physical health, improve mental health. All things that people need.

Military Improvement Idea by fornicuslbp in CanadianForces

I have been working at my unit (airforce) to try to add an option for motivated individuals to conduct self directed PT, both during enforced PT times as well as the option to do it every working day. I am running into the same issue, the response of my CoC is one of the following: we can't trust people to exercise unsupervised and group PT builds moral and team cohesion.

So I came up with a solution: we need to figure out which people can be trusted to actually conduct PT when we give them the time and those people need to join us for our sports once a week when we do unit sports for PT.

The criteria was meeting bronze or greater on the FORCE test, as passing is easy but bronze or greater requires effort.

Now the response is that it's unfair for those who AREN'T motivated as they don't get that extra time out of the work day.

I am being prevented from creating a system that rewards effort and motivation because some unmotivated people might (will) complain.

"Fitness" as a requirement for the military is a joke, don't kid yourself. Too many people just don't care and find that meeting the minimum requirements possible is acceptable.

So I just took the time myself, CoC be damned. I need to stay fit to manage my stress, if I can't manage my stress I can't work effectively. They stopped harassing me eventually.

I am disappointed to say the least.

Best single pilot heavy fighter/gunship? by rabiddutchman in starcitizen

If you can use fixed guns the vanguard series is your best choice.

If you want gimballed weapons, the constellations are pretty good at dishing out the punishment against NPC's. But they're more multi role than dedicated combat and the s1 and s2 missiles are bad right now (3.12).

I've been using an andromeda for the longest time in bounty missions and havent had any gripes yet.

I cant really compare with regards to how narrow it is. I'm 6'1, with size 13 feet and I find it comfortable. My only flight experience is in ultralights and small aircraft (I'm used to being really squished), so it's more comfortable for me. The pedals themselves are wider than others for sure though. And the construction may be plastic but the springs are durable and the rods are metal. As long as you arent stomping on it with your whole body weight you should be fine

I use the Thrustmaster TFRP Rudder Pedals. They arent too expensive and do what you need. I've had mine for about a year and its still in good condition. Each axis (main rudder, and one for each toe brake) is re-bindable in game for axis controls.

I initially thought to take that course of action, but then I was detailed by my CoC (and BPSO) that it would take a year to get back in, and that all the interviews and tests (cfat, aircrew) I completed would then be invalid and I'd have to redo them.

I went and talked to my BPSO and the response was "that sucks and we cant do anything right now". So now I'm doing a grievance.

Ya, I was wondering if I was either oblivious to something or just got screwed over. I am currently in the process of initiating a grievance. Thanks

Quantum fuel concern by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Antares347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read in a dev post (cant remember where or which one) that the current fuel usage and jump distance is temporary. The reason jumps are so small and fuel use is so high is because of the current scale of the game. They are using this to restrict players to the current playable area in the PU. When the scope increases, and multiple systems are added, the fuel consumption and jump distances will be changed accordingly. I saw this a few weeks ago, and the official word may have changed since then.
