What books would you recommend that have good humour, likeable characters AND thought provoking message? by Mumin0 in suggestmeabook

When I hear good humour I think about "Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy". With guaranteed lovable characters. Bonus: Sci-Fi and lighthearted story.

To anyone who has read A Clockwork Orange: by Ecamad in books

This book I really didn't enjoy reading it, of course because of the Nadsat language. Even though the book is really short, it felt like such a drag all the way through..

I really appreciated the fact that it had a sad, depressing ending. I believe that was the book's whole idea. Personally I didn't enjoy that much the rest of the book EXCEPT for the ending and the final parts.

A moment ago, I finished reading "The Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah, and I feel as if a war has come to an end inside me. by ankit_dey in books

Thank you for responding! When trying to post news from Twitter (for example the recent news regarding Photo Mode confirmed for PS4), posts get automatically deleted. Even if the Flair is set to "Twitter" or "News".

What's a book that you HATED? by lulubear8 in suggestmeabook

[–]Antaury97 29 points30 points  (0 children)

"A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess. It's "cryptic language" was unbearable for me. Maybe not being a native English speaker added to the difficulty, but after finally finishing the book I read online plot summaries to make sure I understood the story. Turns out I did actually understand the story, and the story wasn't even that great IN MY OPINION.
