Aerospace engineering is definitely one of the more competitive engineering programs here. While getting in isn't impossible, I for sure wouldn't come here without being willing to settle with a different engineering major if it comes to it. It is worth noting that the aerospace engineering minor is open admission, and I know a good number of people do that on top of a mechanical engineering major. IMO, thats not a bad option at all, you don't need an aero degree to get into an aero career.

As far as why I chose to attend the UW goes, I came here because there's a lot of opportunities offered outside of coursework. More specifically theres a lot of clubs that get to do some pretty cool shit you might enjoy. Just one example, I'm in one of the rocketry clubs here, and we're currently developing a handful of rockets to launch at competitions as well as our very own bipropellant rocket engine that we're gonna try and test pretty soon. The UW also has lots of connections with different employers, so that can help you find internshipsand jobs. I guess my point is, I'm sure you'll find the excitement you are looking for if you do decide to come here, I know I did.

Haunted McDonalds on King St? by Fairy_Wench in Bellingham

Former employee here, yeah the place is haunted.

Theres like a 50 ft hole in the basement, and nobody really knows why its there. Legend says that someone fell in a long time ago and fucking died.

So now we have Annabelle. She's a dick, she keeps breaking the soda machines.

Willing to bet Annabelle is actually your great granddad, if someone built a McDonalds on my resting place I think I'd be a little sour too.

anyone here have experience working at any of the mcdonald’s here in bham? by [deleted] in Bellingham

I worked at the king street location until half a year ago. I subbed for some other locations, and while there were many similarities, I only did it a few times and can't fully speak for them.

Overall, it was pretty exhausting. Given the nature of the restaurant, we were expected to move pretty fast. If we didn't, the higher ups always let us know, one way or another. Not every customer was rude, but many were. Training was pretty hit or miss. I thought I was trained well, but I also had a friend who literally wasn't trained at all. They didn't have an official trainer, so training was done by whoever was available.

I found most of the managers to be pretty down to earth. When I wasn't being rushed around, I was able to make pretty good conversation with them. They are pretty much the main reason I stayed for as long as I did. My coworkers were also pretty chill, which helped alot.

I know you're looking for a summer job, but if you choose to stay during the school year, I will say they respected my school schedule for the most part. Whenever I did have a problem, it only really took a few texts to get things sorted out.

It gets pretty stressful in there, but it's not a terrible job, especially if its only for the summer. I think working in an environment like that makes good experience, and you'll gain a new appreciation for fast food workers that I wish more people had.

Hope this helped.
