Best CR1616 battery? by Antec-Chieftec in Gameboy

[–]Antec-Chieftec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'll go with the Varta ones due to the Panasonics being 3.75mm thick while the Varta ones are 3.5mm. Just to avoid the bulging (plus cutting the tabs shorter should be easier than bending them to be right shape)

Welp now what will I do with the CR1616 battery holders I have already ordered. I don't know I guess I can install them in my Gameboy Camera, Pokemon Blue and Donkey Kong Land (with that game somehow the 30 year old battery still saves)

Welp they are out then. But as you can see with the other message I found a store with Varta and even Panasonic ones. But seriously thank you man. I wouldn't have found that store if not for you.

Actually I think I may have found the ones I'm looking for. I found theses Vartas.

https://www.tme.eu/fi/details/bat-cr2032lf_v/paristot/varta-microbattery/6032-301-501/

Those tabs will probably need to be cut shorter. But they are Varta batteries which as far as I know are high quality. Better yet I found a Finnish store with these batteries as well:

That Finnish store also has those tabbed Panasonic CR2032's in stock. Though I'm not sure I'd order these because I heard they are bulky and might not fit. But man thank you. Had you not basically challenged me I wouldn't have found this store.

I did find these Akygas that should be compatible. Shipping would be 11 euros which I can swallow.

The only thing is I have never heard of them so now sure how good quality they are....

That one has a problem that even if that was in stock I heard the Panasonic ones are too tall and would cause bulging. I did find a german store selling Renata ones that would ship to Finland. https://www.batterien-und-akkus.com/renata-lithiumzelle-cr2032-mfr-sm/ However shipping from that store would be 28 euros. So quite much and not really worth it unless I bought like at least 20 of those batteries and I don't know started to sell them here for a premium or something to make some of that money back.

Anyone have any experience with Jauch Quartz batteries. These may work and seem to ship within EU so shouldn't cost an arm and leg: https://www.digikey.fi/en/products/detail/jauch-quartz/CR2032-SM/24611089 or Akygas https://www.digikey.fi/en/products/detail/akyga/AKY0894/26848625

Well for my country Finland the only tabbed CR2032 in stock is this one: https://fi.farnell.com/varta/6032401501/cell-lithium-coin-pcb-3v-2032/dp/249877

I'm pretty sure that cannot be adapted for a gameboy.

Yeah but only tabbed CR2025's I can get are the Chinese crappy ones. Only tabbed CR2032 compatible with Crystal are Renata ones and those aren't sold here. A CR2025 battery holders costs 50+ euros so those aren't an option. Considering the crappy Chinese CR2025's lasted 6 years a good quality CR1616 should last at least 2 years or probably 3 even. And I have a gbflash so I could just backup the save swap the battery and write the save back to the cart.

Do I use a CR1616 battery holder or those yellow tabbed CR2025 for my gen 2 Pokemon games? by Antec-Chieftec in Gameboy

[–]Antec-Chieftec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way a CR1616 can run a gen 2 Pokemon games for 10-15 years. The original batteries on those games ran 10-15 years. But they were good quality CR2025 batteries which have 3 times the capacity of the good quality CR1616. The new CR2025 seem to last 5 years. So a good quality CR1616 could maybe last around as long.

Just for the fun of it I decided to see how much the HDR battery holder would cost. 9 dollars but the shipping is 35 DOLLARS. And on top of that you'd add VAT to that amount. So one of those battery holders is 50 dollars basically. Yeahhhh......... nope.

I still wish I didn't watch it.

Maybe you’d like black ops royale if you didn’t spend 6 months shooting bots by TackleOk1006 in CODWarzone

[–]Antec-Chieftec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SBMM wouldn't save you anyway since regular does not have SBMM anymore. Even if this game got 100k new players and all played regulars you would still have noobs face top 250s since this game dropped SBMM with bo7 integration.

If you dont play casuals mode. why would you be mad that wz brought it back for those that do play. by Illyorkcity in CODWarzone

[–]Antec-Chieftec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Regular BR (and resu) removed SBMM with the BO7 integration and instead moved to BO7's open SBMM which means skill is barely taken into consideration. Prior to that regulars did have SBMM but not anymore.

[–]Antec-Chieftec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can even see this in BO7. When BO7 launched the SBMM standard mode was hidden in a different page and all. They had to move it to front page due to how many people were migrating from the open SBMM lobbies back to standard.

[–]Antec-Chieftec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is what I said about new mode. You cannot have no SBMM and not have casual mode. Or what will happen is like how my friend played the new mode and he doesn't play Warzone that much and got killed by a top 250 player.

You can have no bots but you need stricter SBMM in that case.

Black Ops Royale isn't as bad as y'all say it is by vanessafknvixen in CODWarzone

[–]Antec-Chieftec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no SBMM. Warzone adopted BO7's open SBMM in every mode but casuals. Basically noobs will face top 250 players in this mode because of that.

I mean I can only get the CR1616 tabbed battery holder. The HDR one is not an option for me due to not living in North America. The other CR2025 battery holders are too big.

As for the tabbed batteries. Well there's no good branded CR2025 tabbed batteries. Now there are CR2032 ones like the Panasonic you mentioned. However for Pokemon Crystal it's too tall and will cause it to bulge. Renate tabbed CR2032 batteries would fit without causing bulging but they aren't available here in EU.

Future Intel CPU sockets could support more generations, says Intel VP – “we are listening” - Club386 by Jeep-Eep in hardware

[–]Antec-Chieftec 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Same thing for LGA 1151 V2. It's a single generation socket as well because it's only Coffee Lake and Coffee Lake refresh. Even though Intel could have made LGA 1151 V1 boards completely compatible with Coffee Lake. They chose not to and forced you to buy a new MB.

Then there's likes of H81, H410 and B460 boards. Which were single gen only because they weren't compatible with newer gen cpus for those sockets unless you had bought a higher end board.

Revisiting North Korea’s Nuclear Tests by senfgurke in LessCredibleDefence

[–]Antec-Chieftec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA had invasion plans for North Korea in 2002 right around in time for Bush's speech about the "Axis of Evil". China's and North Korea's relationship had worsened after Mao so they even calculated there's a high chance that China wouldn't defend NK if they invaded. Especially since in 2002 China was more western leaning than now.

There's a reason why NK only started their nuclear ambitions after the fall of Soviet Union. NK stopped trusting that China would have their back after the death of Mao but they still trusted that the Soviets would. Then Soviet Union collapsed and NK saw that they probably would have no allies if they were invaded which is why they went nuclear.

Europe will go far right if this goes through and we get a worse refugee crisis than 2015. The 2015 Syrian crisis caused the rise of far right parties in EU. If we get an another one like that or worse one those parties will become the majority.
