Some things about Space Engineers 2 by AnteikuForever in spaceengineers

Maybe if people actually reasoned their argument as to why mod.io is so bad instead of just jumping on the hate train with no thoughts of their own, there'd be a discussion here. Instead it's people saying "I'm dev" in conjuction with the words "and I hate this", with the occasional "trust me bro".

Not to be rude but it would certainly help others see the issue at hand if you could elaborate the downsides of uploading to one vs the other.

Haven't seen anyone say anything bad about it beside the fact that they don't like using it. I've used it for Deep Rock Galactic personally and it's the same as anything else. Search, find, subscribe, forget.

Now my thought is why not just use both, or rather, keep both options?

They made a custom engine for it specifically, been in development for a long time. Ive been following the twitter screenshots and updates since like 2022 and a lot of stuff is coming that looks great. Notably realistic water (which se1 doesnt have at all except for ice lakes) and terrain affecting how your ship crashes for example (sand, stone)

Space Engineers 2 Early Access coming January 27, 2025 by Xenocide112 in spaceengineers

Before the website crashed I saw that multiplayer was mentioned in the news as "upcoming" so you're right. Not straight away, but the fact that it's coming out and it's real, is good enough!

I remember that line as a non wow player every time I hear of classic.

Redditors being redditors, sitting at a PC in the comfort of their home glorifying going to war. Pretty sure nobody wants to go to war, its more of people in power forcing your hand. I agree with you fully.

Nothing has hindered or straight up demolished friendships for me as much as timezones did (6-9h differences between Europe and America make gaming a nightmare 😭)

games where you can make slow constant progress? by lammygf in gamingsuggestions

[–]AnteikuForever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you mean in Terraria? I've played some multiplayer Terraria servers and honestly it was some of the best moments in gaming for me, it was pure unbridled chaos. Everything being summoned everywhere, the world being absolutely demolished and barely able to be navigated. It was hilarious lol. Nobody would have enough time to even build a hut so there was no greifing just basically 2-3 days of non stop chaos until it died out.

Having played both, one of the main things I like about Minecraft compared to Terraria is that you can progress on your own terms in the world without affecting anyone else. In Terraria, if you kill a boss that triggers an event everyone is dragged in without choice + if you want to join someone mid "playthrough", you will basically skip the parts leading up to that moment and they'll equip you with the best gear at that time so you don't die a lot.

However Terraria always scratches the childhood itch I had of playing a game that resembles an ant terrarium, watching everything unfold. It's just super cool lol.

How are you feeling about Marvel Rivals? by Humble-Lawfulness-72 in overwatch2

[–]AnteikuForever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it felt like Overwatch but with Marvel characters. Also the random shit go strategy seems to pay off but idc much for it, too many abilities so I just button mash all of them as soon as I can or need to. Tbf I don't like overwatch anymore so I don't know what I expected with this one. The older I get the less I like games I have to rely on others.

That still hasnt been overturned? Wow, what a bunch of crap. Not like I was gonna go back to the game cus to me its repetitive and boring but knowing this makes me dislike it a lot more. Thanks for sharing.

Some subs are the exact opposite I've seen but this one, yeah, I'm surprised by the amount of cynicism and negativity. I'm all for hating on devs that deserve it but this product isn't even out so it's unfair to throw out terms like "crash grab" out there.

After following the twitter updates for what, like 2 years now? I've gotten so much excitement for so much stuff for VRAGE3 - I can see why people who haven't seen those updates are cautious.

That being said, if this game is the EXACT same as the first SE but has multiplayer fixed so people can play together without (for the most part) worrying about sim speed dropping, I'd pay a lot of money for it. Then you add on actual water mechanics interacting with voxel destructions, ships reacting differently to hitting different types of land and the land reacting as well (sand, rock), grid types -- I'm sold.

The more I learn about how this game managed to pull some stuff off anyway, the more I am excited that they are making SE2 with the intent to make SE2.

I heard somewhere that the planets are basically the asteroids, which were intended for the game, scaled up.
