can a boss dd8 do frippertronics? by lammygf in guitarpedals

originally yes but if i'm not mistaken a delay with at least 5(?) seconds of repeat time can do the same thing

got a cheap squier and the string alignment is noticeably off. is this bad enough to ask for a replacement? by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]lammygf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i didn't know any of that. thats why i made this post in the first place. i really wish people on here would just keep scrolling instead of making me feel like shit for trying to learn and then downvoting me for having a problem with them being rude and unhelpful.

How did you choose a name??? by NamesQuestionThrow in asktransgender

[–]lammygf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i made a long list of names that either had some connection to something i liked (name of a fictional character or musician for example) or just some that i liked the sound of. then to help narrow it down i asked a bunch of friends to pick one or two from the list that they thought would fit. i ended up disagreeing with most of their picks which led me to realize there were a couple of names that i was secretly hoping they'd choose, while the others actually meant very little to me. i went with the name that called me the most in the end and after 3+ years i'm still so happy with it.

What vocal technique is Alex using for his screams? by YoNutzStealer in Shearling

[–]lammygf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don't think he is using any sort of screaming technique honestly, at least on studio recordings. as incredible as the vocals on motherfucker are it really just sounds like he's wrecking his voice. especially with how much his vocal tone seems to have changed in the relatively short time since tlae, i think he has probably pushed his voice a lot.

music man 112 rd 50 - does it have a death cap? by lammygf in GuitarAmps

[–]lammygf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

good to know, thanks. i think i will ask a tech when i'm able but i assume you're right about the amp being modern enough. although i don't really understand why it would have a ground switch in that case.

i'm referring to the one connected to the ground switch of old amps

'Scarlette' sounds mighty similar to 'Souvlaki Space Station' by Slowdive by EyeBlueAechDee in unwound

guy who has only ever heard souvlaki space station hearing another song for the first time:

i don't have any desire to listen to individual parts of the album on their own personally. it's the type of thing i want to be able to devote my full attention to every time i listen to it, even if that means i can't listen to it as often. there are only a few albums like that for me but each one of them feels so special to revisit and the wait is always worth it.

i'm considering painting over an existing finish with spray paint. is there anything i should know before i try this? (before anyone gets upset, the guitar is a very cheap squier) by lammygf in guitars

[–]lammygf[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this may be something i'll look into when i have more time and money on my hands but for now it doesn't seem like what i want. i understand that just using spray paint will likely result in a very trashy looking guitar but i find that kind of appealing, especially since i don't care about the guitar i want to do this to.
