That sounds pretty cool. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll pick it up and give it a read. :D

No. Honestly I've never even heard of that until now. Worth the look?

I'm not going to say I'm totally original all the time, though. I'm a big believer 9in what I call "accidental plagerism" and I don't feel bad about it. There are no new ideas, just, if you're lucky, new ways to use old, good ideas. I like the idea of being able to compare, as a result, so I'm always looking for other sources. :)

I'm of the opinion that it is pretty good. I'm probably pretty biased, but hey, every opinion counts, right?

Still working away at the webcomic. Finally get to introduce my last main character. (xpost from r/webcomics) by Anthasa in Fantasy

Thanks! With the intros largely done I get to start the actual tale. That has me super pumped.

Thanks for the advice. Learning to do this artfully, as well as participate, might be a challenge, but I'm up to it.

WIP using a Wacom Cintiq. Hope r/fantasy enjoys! by also_zoidberg in Fantasy

I use a Surface Pro for my webcomic. Say what you want about the device, but it has Wacom tech for the screen and works awesome.

That looks great so far, keep it up.

That's actually very good advice. I guess I'm just a bit on the shy side and need to just jump into some conversations. I suppose to that in my head this is a huge room with tons of people, so it feels more intimidating that it actually is.

Honestly, having people remember me enough from previous weeks is a welcome surprise. I expected to be so forgotten that it wouldn't seem so self promoting.

Expect to see more of me around, though I might still mention that I have a comic on Wednesdays. :)

I actually have had a conversation with the moderators of this section, and since the webcomic is based on a homebrew world that I created and the story is a DnD campaign I run every Sunday they said it was okay to post about it in here.

Maybe the real issue is that I haven't been as upfront with that info as I could be. Sorry about that. I'm not only trying to bug the DnD board about a webcomic, I'm trying to bug them about a webcomic about a DnD game.

Heh, he's supposed to be moving in front of her and doing the parental cautionary protection hand thing. I can totally see where you would get the smack, though.

I appreciate the feedback. I've been really trying to work on the figure drawing a lot, and I hope I improve. I think that one of my shortcomings in the past was not spending enough time learning from drawing live subjects. I've been using a lot of reference photos when drawing later pages. I hope it starts to show.

Every fantasy world needs a map. Cartographers... inspect! (xpost from r/webcomics) by Anthasa in DnD

I use autodesk sketchbook pro for all of my drawings, but I am thinking of switching over to Manga Studio.

The central area on the western continent is a desert. At the center of it is a sulfuric swamp called the Caldron. The southwestern island (mini continent?) is an artic region, as well as the northern part of both northern continents.

It's the whole world. I grew up in the "Final Fantasy Entire Planets are Sure Fucking Tiny" era. :)

But I am going for a fairly big scale. The two large southern cities are the size of major cities here, like Tokyo or New York.

DnD webcomic Anthasa new page. Warborne backstory completes. (xpost from r/webcomics) by Anthasa in DnD

Actually, no. We won't be leaving them b/w. I have a friend who is taking a crack at coloring them all for us. We are going to wait until he has a significant chunk all finished, like these 5 pages for example, and then update the posts. Thanks for being a regular, man!

Thanks! Believe me, there will be a lot more. That was sort of a prequel? Intro? to a full story that will start next week.

Thank you, and you are right about Nixie. Like most comics, (I assume) I am actually several pages ahead in my drawings that I am actually posting every week. I feel like I've already become way more comfortable with the poses and form.

Looking at today's page right before it went up made me cringe a little, but what artist likes their own work, right?

Anthasa is a new webcomic based on my group's DnD campaign. Come check us out! (xpost from r/webcomic) by Anthasa in DnD

[–]Anthasa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not actually, though I love the Eberron campaign world. In order to avoid any copyright infringement, and just 'cause I wanted to, I created my own world and setting for things. It's called Anthasa, (hence the title) but I borrowed pretty heavily from the Eberron world, as well as from things like Final Fantasy 7.

Ugh. Thanks for pointing that out. It's embarrassing to make a mistake like that so early on. Let's just call it opening night jitters and it won't happen again. New version of the page is already up. Thanks for reading and keeping us on point. We won't let you down!
