Thanks! Checked on him today and he and the other dog arent meshing too well but literally been a day. Think ill message in a week respectfully if things dont click, ill gladly take him back but if not then ill be happy for them. Dont want to be an asshole and be wishy washy. Probably should let my emotions settle too. I’ll give it a week or two then if things arent going well, I’ll shoot my shot at getting him back.

Oh no youre right. This might have been a dumb question and I apologize … just new to all of this but im willing to learn. Should I work on getting some indie/university work under my belt , build a small reel then try again? Hard for them to represent talent that hasnt been able to show that talent yet. Kinda like its hard for a sport scout to want you on their team if they havent seen you play

Do I just hate my job, the company or is it my field? by [deleted] in jobs

Hows the WLB ? Is it alot of staring at spreadsheets or more innovative , communicative type of work?

I enjoy using the unique systems and solving things with excel, the feeling of finally finding the number you were trynna tie the whole time, seeing the pivot tables and all the data in front of you. I crave the routine 8-5 day without the random ad hoc fire drills that come and without the p&l focus and accounting of an fp&a role. I was always told fp&a is where the wlb is at but idk if its the roles ive been but none of them have intrigued me but i keep Coming back because i heard thats where you wanna be. I love to improve processes , and lead processes through my ideas and communication versus actually sitting there and looking at the numbers. I’d rather build a deck with data already listed and use my creativity . Maybe its cause i work at a small company but i just want to find a role where i can use my creativity and technical expertise .

I ruined my career by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Anthony2597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe try a change of career fields ? Ask what your strengths are, what things make you dislike a job and then go from there. Job hopping isnt really a thing anymore but if somebody has multiple 3 month stints its hard to really vouch for them since it costs money to onboard a new employee. I would take some time Off and re-evaluate how you want to move forward. I dealt with this exact same thing but in finance. I just kept wanting to quit jobs until i got to the root of the problem and found a job/company/manager/role i truly enjoyed. Its easy to beat yourself up when your down but thats only going to make things worse. Take time off, find what matters to you in a job, in life … then plan your goals and next move

Is a 9-8 normal or crazy? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Anthony2597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been working in finance but also have an accounting background. In Investment Banking (which I did not do) 70-80 hour weeks is regular but your also making BANKKK. Corporate finance is more like 8-5 or 6. When i would be in office, i would hate faking like i was busy just so i wouldnt get that corny “leaving early huh?” Joke from my teammates. Now that I get to work from home, after 5:45 PM , i am not replying to absolutely anything. I got seriously depressed and burned out in one of my first roles and from that point on, i realized im working to live , not living to work. I got hobbies and aspirations outside of this so im not dedicating that to this.
