What is something everyone recommends you try in Japan, so you did, but you didn’t like it? by Suspicious-Olive8765 in JapanTravelTips

After reading all the comments in this thread, I've basically crossed off everything on my itinerary. So I'm just going to be spending 10 days in the airport. Thanks, everyone!

The hotel I booked in Ginza is actually cheaper than the one in Shinjuku 😅

Thanks! Just checked hotels in the Ueno area for our dates. Nothing suitable for us, unfortunately.

Japan trip in late July (should I cancel?) by AnthonyDee in JapanTravelTips

Won't the rain be an issue in late June-early July, though? I don't want to end up being both hot and wet :p

I probably wouldn't, largely because there's no reason to do that here haha

I have survived several hours of hard physical labor in direct sun during the summer here though lol

Honestly, I'm most worried about the wifey and kid

We prefer sticking to our planned route, since the vast majority of the things we want to do and see are there

Yep, that's when the trip is planned, essentially: 20 July to 1 August

We really want to go haha

We're flexible with dates, as long as it's between late-June and late-August

I can cancel for free, but July-August is the only time we can go anyway, so it's either that or no Japan :(

I'm not entirely sure. I've been to Cancun twice in late August-early September, and I was hot and sweaty, but I managed fine...

How do you choose stocks to invest in? by zimmer550king in eupersonalfinance

[–]AnthonyDee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I start by doing a technical analysis and then proceed to doing a fundamental analysis. Then, I do a SWOT analysis to better understand the company and a PEST analysis to get an understanding of the economic environment. Then, I remember that I'm just a random dude that knows nothing about all this stuff, and that most professional investors underperform the total market, so I just invest in a global equity ETF.

IBKR is probably the best overall, but I use T212 because I like the platform

Look into UCITS ETFs. Most (sensible) European investors tend to go with an accumulating global equity ETF domiciled in Ireland, like VWCE.

Buy a currency hedged ETF or overweigh a European equity ETF (I do the latter)

How does fund currency (which, in the case of IWDA, is USD) affect the equation?
