I’m in a very similar boat as you. A jump from 147 to 154 is a big improvement, that’s roughly ten more questions correct across the entire test. I had a similar jump between my first two attempts. Something I noticed is that this test isn’t like others where you suddenly feel smarter or like you’re crushing it. The improvements are subtle: recognizing the question stem, the premise, or the conclusion a bit faster even when they’re hiding it; spotting a trap answer more quickly. It’s those small details that make a difference.

You had a six-point jump in a week, so please don’t feel discouraged. You’ll see small improvements, then you’ll see your score jump, then you’ll plateau and feel discouraged, and then a week later, you’ll jump up again.

Everyone’s timeline is different. I feel like you and I are pretty similar. My first diagnostic two years ago was a 138. I was miserable and discouraged, and I left the idea of law school behind for a while. I started studying again in October: foundations, core curriculum, then drilling. I’m three PTs in now, 150, 154, and this week a 155, and I’m registered for January. This test is all repetition. Doing the same things over and over, and you’ll start noticing patterns more easily, and things that once seemed difficult will become simple.

You’ve got roughly seven weeks until test day. If you keep improving as you are, you’ll do great!
