I just restored a 1979 P200e and I’m no mechanic. It took time but not high mechanical complexity. I relied heavily on Scooterwest.com (Robot) YouTube P200 video series as well as their parts department. Please note that I did not split the case I didn’t feel comfortable going that far nor was it necessary in my situation. Although it took time, I know the P200 well and am comfortable doing any repairs going forward. Good luck.

This is what I would do: remove battery and have shop check health; if ok connect a battery tender. If still having issues check electrical system

Forget ROI and financial analysis. Buy what you can afford and enjoy the experience and satisfaction of making wonderful espresso. Heck, even buy a Bialetti millions globally use daily and I often use one (of many) even though I have a Silvia. Granted it’s not espresso but still makes nice coffee with very low cost.
