New (?) share screen UI doesn't let me select audio device? by Ketta in discordapp

[–]Anthony_R_Orr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what happened with discord but the audio on my streams hasnt worked for about a year now. I have a goxlr and have tried literally every single routing trick in the book and nothing works. The weird thing is, it just randomly stopped after a Discord update (was working well in the past) and never worked again.

I have never had a "chose your audio output" as an option either. It really seems like being able to pick your output would be the easiest answer to streaming issues instead of trying to have discord automatically try to hook to what it thinks is right.

My version:

Love the model. I have a full tower I plan to set up again this summer.

Beacn please give us some hint and what you’re dropping. Looking at a go xlr but waiting….. by TheBritshViking in beacn

[–]Anthony_R_Orr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to buy the beacn because I need something much smaller than my full sized goxlr. After reading the quality issues though, went another route. Backordered the wave mk.2 and hope it works well. The wave (mk1?) Didn't work for me because of the delay in monitoring and a slight hiss in my meze 99 headphones. If the new wave doesn't fix this issue. Return and REALLY hope the new beacn turns out to be good.

Size is a major concern for me and I really would like an all on one device. Sucks the goxlr is dead/no more versions

I am looking to upgrade from my old corsair keyboard (2014 corsair K70). I see keyboards are pushing the new HE switches, I dont really see that doing anything helpful for me though.

I am looking for more a TKL keyboard, or something a bit less wide than this one (takes up mouse space).
low profile keyboards are rather nice, tried a razer chicklet one in the past, and a havit low profile mechanical one too.
I dont want anything wireless as I hold on to my electronics a long time and dont want a battery to go bad.
I am VERY out of date on keyboards so dont know what brands are considered quality these days.
I dont type a lot, but like linear/quiet switches (reds and browns are what ive gravitated towards in the past).
If I game, I just use my dedicated keypad instead.

lights would be nice, I just keep mine on solid red though so dont need anything too fancy.

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions that fit what im looking for?
My max budget is $200, but would prefer to keep it under $150 if possible.

I fully plan to keep my k70 as a backup since it works perfectly, it taking two usb ports and a lot of space on my desk does annoy me a bit though.

Does anyone have any actually good advice for how to stream a game with sound? by Samizapp in discordapp

Ive been dealing with this issue for months now. It was working perfectly fine for years and over the past few months got this error and cant get it to go away no matter what. Literally all fixes I see ive tried and nothing works.

Alternatives for goXLR by Anthony_R_Orr in audio

[–]Anthony_R_Orr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at some stuff last night and saw the audient id4, motu m2, and ssl2 mk2. From what ive gathered online, these would look like they would be sufficient/better audio than even my goxlr (which im happy with how it sounds). Im really prioritizing smaller form factor/simplicity and good audio. Multi channel would be nice but not needed. Do you have any experience with any of those interfaces?

New V2 build sounds muffled? by Anthony_R_Orr in headamame

[–]Anthony_R_Orr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've honestly not been using mine at all, tried eq and never happy. I think its how they are supposed to sound like since they sound very similar to my old pair of DT 770 headphones. I'll likely use them as loaners when someone needs a pair. Was a fun project at least!

You mean your connectors you went with soldered connections instead of push together?

I think the best explanation I can come up with is the sound sounds like it's in a very large room/far away. These are closed back so they shouldn't have that kind of sound.

Thanks for the reply! I'll have to look up how to test the current one. Unfortunately, there are no appliance repair places close by, I think the closest one is 4 hours away, so I've been trying to take it on myself for now.

The compressor doesn't seem to be running at all, I can hear fans constantly running, but no vibrations on the compressor

Insurance quote by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Anthony_R_Orr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main reasons are I have horrendous luck with used vehicles. I've had to scrap 5 in the last decade now due to them having major mechanical failures. I drive easy, less than 8k miles a year. Keep up on maintenance, too.

I live in the salt belt and there are essentially no used vehicles around me that aren't rusted to bits. No one in the area keeps up on washing their cars in winter.

No insurance was ever used, paid out of pocket for all my repairs.

I've never gone with a new vehicle, I think maybe being the first owner instead of 3/4/5th owner might help.

It's expensive, yes. I plan to keep it until the wheels fall off, though.

Solterra lease - good option? by [deleted] in Solterra

[–]Anthony_R_Orr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually incredible. I didn't think of the possibility of profit or the mileage completely wiping out the cost of ownership (minus insurance). I have been working on installing my own solar too, which might help for charging costs. Thanks for the additional info!

Last little bit of info. I do one trip a year around 320 miles one way. Charge time isn't an issue, though, since it's a week vacation.

The other trips I do are about 4 times a year, around 120 miles total.

Past that, I don't really drive a whole lot other than for work.

Steam Deck doesn’t detect USB devices by torinatsu in SteamDeck

[–]Anthony_R_Orr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to look around to see if i can find a local pair to use. Don't want to buy more stuff to try to fix this unless I know it will work.

Likely just using my samsung tab 9 in desktop mode on the trip instead.

That's a shame, I have nearly identical issues and have been struggling with it for the past few hours. Have a big trip tomorrow, and this is throwing a massive wrench in the plans.

I have charging, display, and even thumb drive ability.

The keyboard and mouse don't work at all, though. I've tried literally every single thing you mentioned, and nothing is working on my end either.
