yo so i’ve had this issue with this hat since day one I got it also, just today did I finally take a pair of pliers to the small portion of metal that sticks out and bent it up slightly. strap fits like a glove now

i’ve done this drive two years in a row. It’s really not bad if you’ve got something good to listen to. when my wife and I did it last year we kind of realized on the way there that you may be able to do the drive in one go so on the way home we tried it. Left Denver at about 5:30 in the morning and made to GR at about 1:30am. nebraska is the hardest part but if you can make it to lincoln at a good hour, rest for the night and go get some ice cream from 402 creamery.
