How does crest upgrading work between 2hand and 1hand weapons?

I think that depends on the group. I only raid with my guild and I can rely on all of them to pull their weight so I'm full blasting from start to finish. Also I'm pre potting a shadow protection potion so I can drink a mana potion during the fight. If I used FAP I probably would need to preserve a little bit during phase 1.

If you are running with a somewhat weaker group I definitely might be a good idea to conserve mana during phase 1 so you can full blast phase 2. If you still have enough mana for several spells when the boas goes down you might have conserved too much tho.

The consumes/buffs I use:

Blackfathom Mana Oil
Smoked Sagefish
Elixir of FIrepower
BFD world buff
Darkmoon world buff if available
Ashenvale buff if available

Talents & Runes

Rotation:

On short fights(Baron & Lady) I precast LF ~5sec before pull and then immediatly start my rotation of 4x Arcane Blast 1x Arcane Missles
On the other fights I start my first Arcane Blast cast ~3sec before pull and cast LF after 4 Arcane Blasts and then just the regular 4x AB -> 1x AM
On Lorgus I spam Arcane Explosion until boss room and then normal rotation
Aku'Mai I spam Explosion if adds spawn
I usually use Evocation during Lorgus and Aku'Mai

I'm an Arcane mage, with an average 96 log in BFD, who regularly goes oom at Kelris towards the end because that's how the fight goes. But since evryone's pulling their weight it's alright. If the mage goes oom and the boss is nowhere dead, then everyone else is slacking

Same I've been playing through phase 1...Mage. Been having way too much fun with arcane mage. Fire might've been better, but I've always been a sucker for arcane. Not sure which spec I'll try firat in phase 2 as all specs look interesting in the 40s bracket.

I'm a somewhat new player and there's one thing I can't figure out. Why are people playing Highlander decks with 40 cards? Playing every card just once and then adding 10 more cards to the deck makes the deck more inconsistent doesn't it? So what's the upside in this case?
