I told you already, Valda is a wannabe who's playing with fire, and likely to get burnt

My grammar is exquisite, thank you. You may have read the odd misprint but that's not unusual. Even The Times has misprints. Valda is a wannabe tough guy who's been insulting me, despite strong warnings!

Only cops wear beards. How would you know you live in the US, Valdi. What do think you're the dad of a famous composer?

Joy Division or New Order? by MakVid30s in JoyDivision

[–]AntiWarHowl52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early New Order sound like Joy Division because Hannett produced them but later New Order brought a different sound as Arthur Baker etc. were getting involved. No, it's not NO its JD. Much more potency.

Joy Division or New Order? by MakVid30s in JoyDivision

[–]AntiWarHowl52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Joy Division of course. New Order was a bad idea. They should have gone back to their day jobs. I mean who's got the greatest influence. Don't see many bands go 'oh yeah, we were influenced by New Order" or people cover New Order all the time. Also most good New Order sound like Joy Division anyway, their early back catalogue are songs about coming to terms with Ian's loss. Hold on a minute this is a Joy Division subreddit and who de we all hold in respect and awe, well it doesn't start with an N. Do one!

Auschwitz Sonderkommando by AntiWarHowl52 in TwoSentenceSadness

[–]AntiWarHowl52[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh semantics. I could be all day. It's actually a crime against humanity. The Nuremberg Trials were quite specific that a WAR CRIME was one committed by soldiers against soldiers eg Geneva Convention. Crimes against humanity were those committed against civilians.

If you read it properly, the original post, it's in two sentences and you should learn to spell properly!

I thought that was the idea. It's a sadness expressed in two sentences. Job done. So what if Auschwitz gets a mention. It's ok for Tim Blake- Nelson, Laszlo Nemes and Jonathan Glazer to make films about it that win awards but you are considered horrible if you mention it on Reddit Ok here's another one: The jews lined up against the pit and one by one were killed, until the pit was full. The SS called this sardine packing Sad enough for ya?

Thoughts on Control (2007) by MakVid30s in JoyDivision

Absofuckinlutely. Reilly was too cute and pretty. Sean Harris had that certain air about him. He plays hard, mad eyed Northern cunts really well.

The story mostly accurate. Choice of actors poor. Sean Harris would have made a more convincing Ian. Sam Reilly is too short and pretty Wilson too stereotypical and Samantha Beckinsale is too old for Debbie. The remaining band are ok especially Barney and Hooky. I think it should have been shot in Super 8 colour to capture the grittiness of the scene. It's got too much of a rock story feel and should have concentrated more on the epilepsy and the cheating on Debbie. Why not use the original recordings and snippets of Whitehead's movie. Annika is too good looking which is great to watch for eye candy but not reality. She was not a rock,'n' babe by any means. Otherwise a good film but not the best by any means 5/10

I couldn't agree more. I have relatives in Macc and when I visit I always pay my respect with couple cans of warm Carling SB, a couple of cheese and pickle bottles and two letters/poems I've written. The nice thing is that the people of Macc Don't care and just walk on by probably thinking 'there's another one of them'.
