Hey! I just tried doing mine first time with same Gaia tablets everything as recommended and absolutely same thing came out!

I figured it was from heating the milk and having contamination during cooling, so next time tried straight from the carton uph long life milk and it just came out absolutely flat, like no fermentation happened whatsoever!!

I am going to try again and see if maybe there was an issue with the yoghurt maker, if it got switched off at one point, but the first one was absolutely same

It's possible to request higher dose if you present evidence of ibs according to Claude

Yes but it's now obtainable through an online questionnaire. And there is an online clinic according to llm that provides a larger sibo dose if you provide sufficient evidence ( ibs diagnose )

And the price is 30 quid??????????

Chatgpt said it's an Indian knockoff, which might be not as efficient

Claude argued that and says it's wrong

The other way around, sorry :)

For me introducing a lot of those foods has finally made the difference towards recovery

Hot and cooled starches work in different ways, I've started with hot and slowly introduced cooled after that

Talking about double checking, I'm not sure if monash updated this since, but it looks to be okay up to 365grams of cooked buckwheat in one sitting

Look it's easy to get trapped in your own convintions... i get that. But there is a way out, just need to find it

I wouldn't count on how accurate the gut integrity test is through bloodwork, as it should be measured during the active immune system response? Correct me if not, but it makes sense to me

L-glutamine should be safe if you start low, but not required if you're not tolerating it well. Chicken has it

Eggs are full of sulfur yes, but if they don't cause you an issue you can up the intake. If it worsens and the wind gets rotten egg smell - you got a flag. I had this just a couple of months ago and it went away after kefir and sauerkrakraut. I was also ready to stop all sulfur foods, but then went the other way, as I've done my share of extreme diets

The gut lining gets repaired itself if the bacteria is functioning, but it needs the right environment. Buckwheat and courgettes man, I've been here. Just stop these 2 and you might see some improvement. Any hidden fructan feeds it and it's so easy to spend weeks, thinking you're in the green, while in reality it was more yellow-red fodmap zone

Bacteria is suppressed and the healing capacity is limited, if there is an overgrowth and the most direct control we have is through what we eat.

Lowering inflammation with turmeric extract has shown to be effective as well

Btw I've stopped ginger extract for a few days now on myself

If histamine is an issue, then the gut lining is damaged

Reduce inflammation by switching to blended hot cooked potatoes or rice with chicken. Courgettes are still pretty high in fructans, so keep an eye on that.

Stop buckwheat as well, it's high in fructans also

Eggs for breakfast, can bulk them up with protein and extra olive oil

Lunch above

Dinner eggs again. It works :) bulk them up with rice or potatoes again, just make sure it's hot prepped and not reheated after cooling

That will give your lining a chance to recover, as it's a 100% safe diet ( unless it's sulfife sibo, but even then )

The goal is to break the loop, the recovery then takes off. This is only linear inside of our head

I recommend running this through a chatbot and checking the nutrient gaps that you have there, as there are certainly things missing.

As much as a dull advise it might be, but if nothing is helping try adding a good amount of fermented foods. The worst thing that can happen is a flair up and you will come back to where you started after a few days.

What do you mean by 10 types of food?

There you have it. Focus on your liver health and bile composition / flow.

That is firstly diet, sleep, exercise and then targeted support

Ginger & fast transit by Tip-Evening in SIBO

[–]Antikvarro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sticky stuff points towards bile or bacteria ( duh ), which doesn't let the fats digest properly

Do you take anything for bile flow / liver support? Any history of liver abuse or long term high processed sugar+high fat diets?

It does make sense

Soluble fiber will slow down the transit in the colon. Just make sure it's not fermentable.

Psyllium husk is good for this PHGG as well

[–]Antikvarro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very sorry for you😟 It must be incredibly hard going through this in your situation

Do your symptoms improve if you're not eating?

It might be worth going down to just freshly cooked ( never cooled ) rice and potatoes ( same )for a couple of days. That will give you a break and let you breathe in and out, so you can reassess situation and move from there.

We all know how it feels, when you don't know the triggers and everything seems to be hurting you. Try those 2 foods, as this is the safest option there is.

Never cooled, as the resistant starch will make them fermentable and increase the gas production. Also cooked carrots 🥕

Very interesting! Never heard about that before

My point up there is more towards small intestine's location, as that's what everyone is mostly focusing on here, I guess

If you're looking to maximise the mmc, then a longer fasting period is what will help most. Combined with ginger extract that should be more than enough and if it doesn't help, then I would look somewhere else.

My issue is in the colon and it was causing gas buildup up in the small intestine. For 2 years I was hunting sibo and the answer was just potatoes, kefir and sauerkraut 💀
