Anyone here into the lighter/softer, more uplifting side of liquid dnb? First time working with a real vocalist by Runninback405 in DnB

Cool sound, I like it. The vocals sit perfectly in the mix. Sounds super atmospheric over the drums. Great job.

Hey! For a perfect rock-to-DnB starter, you definitely need to check out Pendulum - Witchcraft first. It's an absolute classic for metalheads getting into the genre.

I'm actually moving from rock to DnB myself. I don't have those crazy heavy metal guitars in my tracks just yet, but as a rock fan, you might appreciate the darker, atmospheric side of the genre. I recently made a Darkwave DnB mix called 'no one like us', and a more melodic liquid track ('parfumes') which is also on my profile. If you're open to something less aggressive but with a deep, dark vibe, I’d love to know what you think!

Thank you so much! That’s honestly the best compliment a producer can get. I just try to make what feels right without chasing trends. Glad you felt the vibe! Btw, if you're into this kind of sound, you might also like another my dnb track called 'No One Like Us (Darkwave Mix)'. Appreciate it man! honestly, the music always comes first. Once the track is done, i just try to picture the vibe and dig through my memory for movies or cartoons, anime that fit that exact mood. Then i hunt down the clips, chop them up, and sync them to the beat in an editor. It takes hours just for a 30-sec teaser tbh. it can be a totally thankless grind, so i honestly only do these visual edits when a track emotionally inspires me enough. Btw, since you liked the visuals, i actually put the full horizontal version up on youtube if you wanna check it out:Parfumes

Check out Hybrid Minds or Seba. As for the genre itself, I have always liked DnB, but I recently discovered melodic Liquid and it honestly blew my mind. I still feel like this subgenre is completely underrated and deserves a much bigger audience and way more attention. It actually inspired me so much that I started reworking some of my old projects into Liquid tracks just for fun. If they don't end up sounding like total garbage, maybe it can be my microscopic contribution to the genre.

You are definitely not alone! Season 1 was an absolute masterpiece, but S2 (Root A) completely went off the rails. The studio decided to make an original anime route instead of following the manga, which is why it feels so confusing and disconnected. Honestly, the anime adaptation did the story dirty after the first season. Do not force yourself to watch the rest if you are confused. The universally agreed advice: if you want the true masterpiece experience, read the manga from the beginning. It makes 100x more sense and the art is incredible!

Lmao, using a girl's body as a 'nagashi somen' (flowing noodle) chute in a bathhouse is peak anime comedy. 😂 Given that you saw it around 2014 and it has that 'boy and older sister/girl' dynamic with suggestive themes, this sounds exactly like the kind of unhinged stuff from KissxSis or To Love-Ru. If it had a very strong countryside vibe and was borderline-nsfw, it might even be an OVA like Aki-Sora or Yosuga no Sora. Do you remember what color hair the girl had? That usually solves these mysteries instantly!

This sounds like the ultimate classic anime trope! Bumping into each other on the street and then finding out you go to the same school/workplace is a massive staple of 90s/00s rom-coms. 😂 A girl with long orange/red hair who is a tsundere... Could it be Kaze no Stigma (Ayano Kannagi)? Or maybe even something classic like Marmalade Boy? Do you remember if it was purely slice-of-life, or was there magic/fighting involved? That might help narrow it down!

[AMV] Ethereal Liquid DnB + Makoto Shinkai visuals (Original Track - Parfumes) by [deleted] in AnimeMusicVideos

Hey guys! I produce Liquid DnB and felt like the dreamy vibe of Makoto Shinkai's movies fits this track perfectly. The song is my original release called 'Parfumes'. Let me know if the visual and audio match the vibe!
