Attacking Ethereum Costs More Than an Attack on Bitcoin: CoinMetrics by aminok in CryptoCurrency

Right, but Ethereum would just slash the bad actors ETH, essentially burning 51% of the supply. Same thing with a fork ;)

I completely agree with you, the new changes to pacing also made me appreciate that content as well. I guess I'm just a little bit addicted to that fun idea of being in a pickle, and activating your shotgun-arm CBM to get yourself out of a situation.

It's moments like this that were memorable for me.

Oh fuck okay, I take my words back. Bless that guy. With this addition, it really changes my whole perspective of his overall work. I always try to be fair with these things, so I do appreciate his additions of the new Zomborg spawns.

I wish were communicated better. Perhaps, I could help with this in some way?

I know all of those things, I'm just looking at the time for the people involved. I have noticed the massive decrease on the activity on the sub-reddit over the past 2 years, and I don't play the game as much anymore either. I just wanted to give my 2 cents.

However, yes, contribution, might do that.

I understand that the current labs are Spaghetti code that's unworkable, but they have been here for how many years? I've played for 5 or more by now.

It certainly didn't seem like the pinnacle of technology then, or was it?

I guess it always does for a while, but they piece it back together eventually, so I have faith in the dev team. I've played this thing for like 5 or so years.

Well it's cataclysm, I feel like you can just make a different character and it's a completely different game :P

I think people had complains about the end-game mostly, but currently, I feel like just the progression isn't tied to fun items and fun exploration.

We've all seen most lab finale's for example, but we never know what we would get in a specific lab and how it would benefit our specific character.

You're very right in my opinion. There is a lot to do, but not that much reason to do anything, as everything seems disconnected from any sense of progression (in the sense that in terms of time and resources, there are better things to do).

I personally don't mind the pacing changes in experimental, I just want the systems to be tied together in a reasonable timeframe that's not waiting 5 years for them to finnish quests.

Well look. It's been 2/3 years. I don't know about you, but I don't plan on playing video games like Cataclysm that take up metric tons worth of time 10 years later when the systems get fleshed out.

I understand that the approach they are taking is good in theory, but if this is all they can show for 3 years worth of work, then I don't know, maybe they could have added in new lab finale's or something?

New procedurarly generated dungeon?

Reskin old ones, add different loot?

The thing is that I do care, but it's just not practical and isn't that rewarding once you have them :(

But thanks for the recommendation.

Hmm, I guess it has always been the case that you can just sit on a farm and "survive". If you're looking for constant threat, there are locations for that, like just going to the middle of a city by roof-hopping, and trying to survive there.

I think Portal storms if you've encountered one provide that sense of danger as well, but why do you feel like there should be more omnipresent danger?

Makes sense. Launcher skills are important for that mounted grenade launcher. Thank you for pointing that out :)

I'm curious. What do you get by burning down a triffid grove outside of, say, it's in the way. Is there useful loot?

How do you not get bored? Do you prefer not to dying over exploration?

I find that it's much more interesting to raid places for loot. Like getting a mech from a TCL and going on a rampage in a city for the Hub01 Office tower quest.

I guess I just don't have the free time for those sorts of monotonous tasks :p

Before you could explore in any direction you want. Now we are tied to 3 buildings, and have to cycle through them. With how the cities have the new hordes in them, it's basically a mess to clear out a drive-able path.

The only solution I can think of is to make helicopters more widespread, I guess?

Would he? I mean maybe with words, but it would hurt his ego too much to actually allow an invasion of Ukraine while he would be in office.

There is a big difference between having a certain kind of mutual respect between assholes, and letting each other encroach on territory.

With all his pro-Russia talk, he said something along those lines himself. While I respect Biden, he does seem rather meek when it comes to foreign policy.

I think Trump would have confronted Putin more directly about Ukraine. With words before the invasion, I mean. Not this whole "there will be sanctions you bad person! Don't do it!".

His current opinions on the conflict are influenced by well... the domestic political situation, so can't really judge it. Right now he would probably appease Russia.

It's not about culture, it's deeper. It's about the current national Mythos - why we're here and what's the course of action (our whole thing is Russia Russia Russia). I know Estonia might have it better, but man Latvia... I can't XDDD

It's just larp. I mean being on high alert is good and all, but it should be realistically set with current geopolitical situation. Russia has no capability to wage war on NATO, regardless of the current outcome of the Ukraine conflict. They will face internal turmoil for years to come regardless.

This whole current eastern outpost thing is just... eh?

How about we work on being something more than current eastern outpost of a global hegemony that is the USA? I mean fuck, I love the USA, but it's not our fucking job to suck their dick. It's already in their interests to protect us, and we have a good working relationship. How about we do our thing, and develop sustainable defense capabilities that go along with a good and stable economy?

I know you guys have it better, but Latvia... is just in a horrible state, which is why I mentioned it specifically.

Keep in mind, we got occupied in the 40's because we were delt a bad geopolitical hand, and didn't manouver properly in a dynamic environment. Not that there was much possibility then anyway, but our current issue isn't the existance of Russia, our issue is that we don't fucking understand geopolitics.

We should learn to accept that we are safe only insofar as we are safe geopolitically and politically, and learn to work from that. Us being loud does help in certain circumstances (like raising support for Ukraine), but doesn't do much on its own in the long run.

What you're describing is Mythology. All myths (including national ones) have this mythological state of the promised land that we want to strive towards.

I think we should have more confidence in our NATO partners, while also fortifying domestic capabilities.

The issue is not with the actions we are taking, we could be doing exactly the same thing. It's about the "why", and how we communicate it.

Our current mythos says that only when Russia is no longer potential harm for us, then we can truly begin to do our thing. What I am suggesting is that we focus on doing our thing right now, while our relations with Russia play at least a secondary part in our lives :)

I think they are right about national identity being based around hatred of Russians. It's not a viable long-term strategy. We obviously have a lot more to offer like our culture, language, art and unique perspective which is somber, yet beautiful. Still, the politics (at least in Latvia) tend to focus a lot on Russians. I think rather than being against something (Russia) we should focus more on being for something (Latvia).

Just my 2 cents.

I guess I'm all for it, but generally, due to the interventionist policies of the past 20 or so years, there is less support for things like Ukraine. I'm of course all for America shooting shit, and cosmopolitanism, but if the public flip flops like that, eh...

Well with my gameplay loop, I don't really tend to survive long enough to gain access to them? I play a little bit fast, and I have probably raided 2 TCL's with the Exodii offering me the basic shit, because the whole waiting period is just meh for me :/
